so was that the result of both containers, or just the one?

what size container does one use for casing 1/2 of a 1/2 pint? is it those little mini-loaf pans? (foil)

That was the result of 1 container. I put the whole cake in one container.

Did you crumble the cake ? And how thick was the bottom and top layer of the vermiculite ?

Yea, I crumbled the cake to about marble sized bits.

Bottom layer (verm&water) ~ 1"
Substrate layer (too thin by mistake) ~1/4"
Top layer (verm&water) Just enough to cover up all the chunks of fungus.

Ok great...I have a casing that is exactly like that. Today is day 3. I can see small small patches of white fuzz. I'll post pics as soon as I see some pins.
