Still proof in concept. Agar ended up to hard still. I was going for a soft agar that would slide around and fall over the blade.
Incoulate the agar with a wedge and let it grow out for a few days. Then flip and blend so that you have a true agar slurry giving many more inoculation points. I think I'm going to try again with less agar. This was 150 ml to 1.5-2 g agar and 1 grm LME.
Maybe I need a better scale....

Just sterilize the blender jar full of water drop a puck of agar in, blend up and use or sterilize an LC broth, drop and blend , wait a couple days before using. Quickest LC in The west
Seems tocme youβre overcomplicating things.

2g agar for 150ml is over 2% which is more than a standard recipe calls for.
If you wanted super soft agar you should have used like .2-.5g agar for 150ml water.

sounds good , i tried soft agar but no good results ; although i think it was my prep grain and / or PC cycle and will try again ,
i like the water in blender jar then drop some clean wedges , blend and knock up ,right ?
only thing that concerns me is : this won't affect the humidity % in the jar and grains ? or you have to prep your grain a little dry so it can absorb the water ?

Ok, this is close to what I was talking about in gen discussion thread. I want to make the agar soft enough to do this but with a cross stir bar instead of blender jar.
My soft agar is still in a media bottle so I'm not really sure how soft it is yet, but I did 3.5 grams of agar to 500 mL of water Obligatory cult pic OTD:

I miss the old days when all the cool shit you guys use now days was originally invented.

There is definitely some tried and true advice on here from what I have seen but I also see myriad variation on the basic ideas. And by all means, play around if you want. Don't let the figurative weird looks stop you, I've been getting weird looks my whole damn life.
Given, I was not a regular member in the old days so I can't speak to it's content. But have at it man. Let's us know what you come up with.

Hey you do you I just know what reinventing the wheel looks like when I see it. I hope it works out for you just trying to give you the option I see as easier and more effective to accomplish the same goal. Everyone is different tho, i dont even use liquids at all anymore had to many issues.

Do you use strictly G2G for larger amounts or do everything with agar plates? Sorry, I know I'm taking away from the OTD thread but, again, just thinking of options.
