What would YOU do with these?

Found in landscape wood chips in Monterey, CA, a month ago, already dry from our California rain shutdown.
I decided to gather a haul, clean and dehydrate.
Extensive research left me ... mystified.
My initial post left me befuddled (but thank you).
Filled four jars with the dried mushrooms (with desiccant). These jars are staring at me nightly, waiting for... something to happen, I guess.

I would make tea 😀 Or extract. Gyms usually taste horrible and are often weakly active. Never tried this species, though.

100%
I don’t have the description handy but I think they we were originally described from a collection in Monterey. Maybe Mendocino. Some CA city that starts with a “M” I believe. Those match the macro description perfectly.

Not so much a battle, more like a correction. Few people on this forum knows the Californian species better than Alan.

After having another look, I agree.
I'll be the 1st to say that I'm not perfect and can make mistakes, identification from pictures is not as easy as it seems sometimes and I welcome correction and constructive criticism anytime.

To answer the original post though, what I personally would do is not eat them unless desperate. I’m curious, but not curious enough. I have a jar full as well and they’ve been sitting on my workbench for a long time.
IF I had to use them, I’d throw them in a coffee grinder and press them into capsules. But I don’t microdose, so they just live in the jar for now.

^ Yeah, thanks for that HSapiensAmericanus - and Psilosadhu. I wonder how many of us mushroom hunters have the decorative Gym Jars in their garages, accumulating dust.
Well anyway, found my first Lion's Mane yesterday, a much safer alternative for consumption... for now.

Terrible just terrible. Now you're acting like everyone else is at fault except you.
