Asante incase you are talking about me, just so you know I have been taking precautions in my personal life. cleaning off handles on things that multiple people touch at woek, washing my hands frequently, avaoiding people who cough and sneeze like the plauge, ect. I'm even going to start wearing a face mask if Ontario reaches a certain level of cases and I'll be stocking up on food and water aswell.
Just because I'm advising people not to panic does not mean I'm not taking measures to avoid the spreading of disease.
Since I heard the news I've been thinking about what acrion to take and in all my posts twlling people not to panic have also encouraged people to prepare.
I dont think anyone in this thread is telling people not to worry about being prepared.
TomNL and I are absolutely not talking about you. Here in the Benelux countries people are extremely aloof an naive about it, there is unreasonable inertia here.
We were commenting on the local situation.
Its becoming a local situation for all of us soon

I don't understand why health organisations, governments and medical institutions won't suggest anything.
Supporting our own immune system is crucial, like with all viral pandemic. Herbal teas (for instance: elderberry flower, mint, lemon grass) high doses Vitamin C, D, multivitamins, minerals, garlic, honey, medicinal mushrooms and the list could go on!
Don't rely on your government and the healthcare system.

Even Homeland Security advises you to have at least 2 weeks to a month of food in your house in case of disasters of any nature, and to have a bugout bag with essentials.
Stocking up is not a fear response. Its a sensible precaution.
Suppose you have a family who has what they need for a month in their home and a family who has three packs of ramen. Civil unrest strikes and people storm the groceries stores like its an electronics store on black friday. Shots are being fired. Who is afraid? The family who can stay at home or the family who have to chance to take part in the dash on the stores?

Maybe, but I've got my dad eating manuka honey, astralagus extract and stametz 7, to help stave off secondary infection anyway

Hey, it certainly can't hurt. I'm not saying there's not empiric evidence that this stuff is helpful and good for you, but it's not the CDC's job to hawk supplements.

Remember kids more than 500mg of vitamin C per day is counterproductive and harmful. 100mg is plenty

I will profit from this virus directly until I get sick and spread it to all my customers.

Greets Tom
Sounds like going to the doctor if you're young might be an important part of surviving this thing. I can imagine alot of young people trying to tough it out because 1. That's what you're expected to do 2. Medical bills are a bitch and 3. The doctor will absolutely roll their eyes and send you home if you have the common cold.
Regardless testing is important so if you feel sick you should go see a doctor. Or rather call your doctor and they can tell you how to go about it. You shouldn't just show up and sit in waiting rooms.
Also was wondering how soon to be allergy season will effect this. There's a hope warming weather will make this thing fade but more people are likely to dismiss symptoms as allergies.
