Initially I had a montub with bulk substrate going very well coco coir/ verm per my previous thread. Long story short monotub was knocked over by girlfriend trying to move it so substrate broke inside the tub. Decided to patch and put in 2 small containers (seen in pics) inside the monotub with perlite at the bottom. (75f & 90-99rh 12on 12off) Theyve been growing mycelium Ok but could use some tips. Should i keep them inside the monotub w perlite or take out separately? Are those pins?? Pic with weird "pin" is from the bottom of the container. Any help appreciated on what that is and wether to keep inside or treat separately to fruit??

Those are pins. The big one is pretty much a mushroom, just looks weird because it's pressed against the wall. Lay off the misting, otherwise keep doing what you're doing.

Wohoo! Thanks. So no more misting at all? Just light and fan? Should I do something about that squished mush at the bottom, Will it harm my substrate if i leave it until the first flush?

Definitely light. No need to fan, just leave the lids unlatched. Some side/bottom pinning won't effect the rest of the substrate too badly - just remove it with your first flush.
The action of a liner is to pull away from the walls/floor of the monotub as the substrate shrinks, which helps it to maintain optimal surface conditions so that all of your fruits show up on top. Your conditions are probably pretty good, seeing as you only have a little bit of side/bottom pinning.

Thank u for all the advice. Will post pictures as soon as I see top pins. Any other advice to get those pins out? So far only that mushy at the bottom surface and that little side pin. Nothing else.

Lol grab that sucker with some chop sticks hahah good idea!!! I didn't think of that! Most definitely don't want it dropping spores on bottom sub. I hope I get top pins very soon!! It's weird how only that ONE mushy grew from the bottom. Lol btw searching for chinese restaurants nearby for some chop sticks.

Thabk u for the help! So more pins began to show up on the sides and the bottom. Im sure it was because it was a patched substrate. So I ended up flipping the block and now theyre growing up. Any experience with this? I have the 2 small bins with the Pins Inside a large 66qt monotub as a chamber. Treat normal? I thought about opening up the sides of small bins so the side pins can grow well kinda treat it like a cake?

Stop stressing your block by dropping and flipping it.
