Inoculated my first self pour agar. Simple numbered questions.

First off I have 500 celltreat petri, 500mL media bottle, infrared gun, loop, and making a flowhood with an inline fan, so I’m invested in this and will learn through experience/teks but want opinions too. I’m making it a little harder than it should be but just check this out. Tell me how I can improve please.
SAB wiped with ISO. Petris are set/stacked on pie holder thing holding them off the ground in SAB. Syringe, loop are in the SAB. Torch outside SAB.
1. Loop is sterilized and set back on pie holder (actual loop touching nothing.)
2. Syringe sterilized, loop picked up, syringe cooled off with a drop pushed out over petri lid.
3. Drop from syringe onto loop head
4. Syringe set down onto pie holder
5. Petri lid carefully taken off, make streaks with loop.
6. Top carefully put back on, dish placed in “already inoculated spot” on pie holder.
7. Sterilize loop every dish, syringe every few dish
I mean, it’s just this simple right? What could I do different? I’m always reading after/during work about whatever.. C10’s techniques mainly right now. (Thanks homie.) I’m trying to get a bunch of agar inoculated without getting ahead of myself.

Well you already mentioned c10's guide which shows streaking strategy.
Aside from that you could start from a print rather than a syringe.
Otherwise, is this all preventative or have you been having contamination problems?

Preventative for sure man. I’ve read guides a few times over, and just curious if how I’m doing my dishes sounds similar to how others do theirs with success. It all is quite simple, and I’m definitely a little too on edge about doing things right. He has a great streaking guide, definitely using it!

I feel that, for sure. I’ve read a bunch of guides and it is quite simple, I guess I’m just curious if how I’m doing my dishes sounds good?

The only thing I'll add is that you yourself are one of the most likely vectors of contamination. At risk of offense, take a shower, wear clean clothes, brush your teeth, and use a face mask before doing this work. Many use gloves, whether you do or not either way use iso.

Ok homie, no offense taken. I’ll make sure to do the simple stuff like that. I’m just on edge about it, probably because I just read so much and honestly maby a little impatient even. Just trying to buy and do everything I can. Sorry if I come off like I want to be spoon fed. I just can’t stop reading and asking questions about everything.

Nah I get it tho it is stressful your first few time cause you don’t wanna waste your time and money. I’d say the most important thing is only put sterile things above sterile things. Don’t put your hands or arms over the plates in your SAB And of course clean your self

Not at all. Patience is a virtue in this hobby and one of the most difficult parts. You are on the right track and seem to know what you are doing.

Ok, I’m going to prioritize cleanliness. Going to grab some surgical masks or something similar too. Thanks guys. I’m going to just kick it, and honestly going to chill on the reading. Again, thank you. Feel a little more at ease fellas.

Everything sounds good to me.. Maybe I'm just getting lazy but usually I just put a drop or 2 on a plate straight from the syringe.. less vectors for contamination because it's quicker.. used to try to streak syringes when I first started but now that's what I be doing haha.. usually just use my loop for prints

I'm talking about cheap dust masks. Just don't be breathing on your work and you are good.

Ok I already have dust masks I’ll just keep using those.
Ya I didn’t streak all of them. I’m lazy too, I’m new so you know how it is. Also, I find this very interesting too. I would like to buy a microscope and actually look at the mycelium and correlate why things happen... isn’t easier to transfer for streaked plates and easier to get clean growth edges?

You got this. People make it seem harder than it is.
Get that microscope and explore!
Can't give you exact answers, but using a macro lens while taking transfers did help me.
