A question about clones

When using a culture that originates from a tissue from a single fruit aka a clone what is the general rule for how long one can keep using that specific strain?
in other words whats the longest you have heard of someone having consistent results with genetics from a cloned fruit?

You can pull from the original culture indefinitely the problems come when you start taking clones of clones and even then it can take generations to have any noticeable effect

so as a beginner , a rule of thumb should be to stick to clones from ms fruits then? thanks for your feedback
i guess to me it just seemed like a good question, like with weed people switch genetics every couple years, even though everyone knows some old dude w a cut of original bubba that hes had since 94 but i digress....

A good route to go is to clone the clusters you get from ms and use them, you can also clone for large fruits, potency, and even weird mutations. Generally speaking MS is a crap shot and if you want to produce bulk you need consistency. It’s like growing bud from seed versus taking clones from a mother plant both have their ups and downs

ok thanks for clarification. i am more concerned about how long a given genetic can be kept. i am currently reading threads on how to select a clone and why, seems pretty straight forward. I read one person said they clone to avoid potency issues , which i havent experienced in ms grows. either way im excited
