Pins YAY! Bottom pins BOO!!
    #26519177 - 03/05/20 05:36 PM (3 years, 10 months ago)

So I’m very excited on having pins on my first grow!! But I also have bottom pins; when looking around, the main way to harvest bottom pins is harvesting the top, flipping the substrate, harvesting the bottom and then setting the substrate back to normal.

My problem is, I have top fruits at all stages and don’t see an opportunity to flip the substrate without crushing the pins that are too early to harvest before the bottom fruits rot.

Do I let the bottom rot, and keep the top going, or flip when I don’t have bigger fruits (but definitely small pins) to prevent the bottom fruits from rotting?

They will grow just like normal and will mature about the same time as everything else, I wouldn't mess with the sub until you are ready to harvest. And they won't rot unless they are in water on the bottom, or if you let them get really old.

They just reconstitute into Mycelium. They will bruise but probably won't rot unless something other than mycelium is digesting them. Leave them is my vote.

Appreciate the replies, I am hoping the surface gets to a point where I can flip, but if not I will just let the bottom do it’s thing!
