Early pinning in jars but not all fully colonized

I currently have 8 pint jars. One has had a big pin! 5/8 look fully colonised but 3 still have some to go at the sides. Do I wait for all of them before I put them in the chamber?

Assuming you are doing PF tek, I would go ahead and put the jars that are pinning in the FC and then put the rest of the jars in once they are fully colonized

Yep... if you don’t use enough inoculate so that it goes all the way to the bottom (or close to it) of the jar, you can run into the problem that the OP did... while full colonization is a big pinning trigger, there’s a certain point Where the first parts of a cake to colonize are going to start pinning before myc can finish colonizing the parts of the cake that really far away from the initial inoculation points.
Also why wide mouth 1/2 pints are better.. they’re shorter and less inoculate can be used to get full colonization pretty easily. If you’re using pints (best to not even attempt these) or tall 1/2 pints (totally doable but..), use more inoculate and when you’re injecting the spores, gently use the syringe needle to push down and towards the center of the jar so that you pull the brf cake away from the side of the jar slightly. That way the spore solution has an easier time getting further towards the bottom of the jar.

Full pint jars typically stall out before 100% colonization. I think its because the substrate dries out before the mycelium reaches it.
Half pint wide mouths should always be used for PF tek. Its practically fool proof (if u make the mixture right).

it's because gravity draws moisture to the bottom and compacts your substrate
