-------------------- Butternut squash are softer than acorn or other types of squash, which makes them easier to cut and prepare.

Kinda funny that all we know about growing and most of us dont know shit about edibles! LOL I have thought about giving them a try though. Those look like some really nice specimens doc,I bet they are going to be tasty. I would like to try morels, but I have heard they are tough to cultivate. Guess Ive got some reading to do!

You can pick them when young, it will be fine. Although you want them to grow up so you get enough, make sure you get them before they begin sporulating or you will not be happy. Some oyster strains will leave strings of stuck together spores dangling off the gills. Not good. You could wash them off and keep them in a separate container, but you wouldn't want the spore bloom anyway. Oysters can be unbelievable....
There is an edibles forum... That is why people here don't know shit about edibles, the majority of traffic has to do with psilocybin producing mushrooms.

Those look good! But yeah.. not too blue...
How hard are they to cultivate? I've turned into quite the green thumb, and am looking into a lot of home grown plants and fungusy life.
