http:// The whitish cottony thread like structure observed on the agar plate is known as mycelium which is the vegetative part of a fungus. The following mycelium is of a mushroom producing fungus, mostly in the wild mycelium is not visible as it is buried. The fungus was first grown on the agar plate and then the butterfly was created on the carpet of mycelium using loops and needles. We chose Sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) which is a commonly used media for the cultivation of fungi. The bluish color present on the agar plate is an interesting phenomena observed in Psilocybe cubensis, this phenomena is commonly known as blue bruising and plays a vital role in identifying P cubensis in the wild. Blue bruising can be observed on the mushrooms (fruiting body) as well as the mycelium (vegetative part) of P cubensis when damaged by any physical force. The main cause/s of such reaction/s is not very known but it has been attributed to the unique biochemistry found in the fungus. P cubensis is included in the category of psilocybin-containing mushrooms. Psilocybin has been used to treat various forms of mental disorders such as Nicotine addictions, Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive-compulsive disorder and Opioid addictions in both clinical and non-clinical settings. As we get rid of the stigma surrounding mental disorders in this society, psilocybin assisted psycho-therapy could be a possible route to treat the disorders of disconnections and alienation's from the self and the nature that surrounds us.
Art-O-Agar which means art on agar, the photo and description was an entry from my side and yes I won something. The judges had no clue, most of them were microbiologists since the conference was held by the medical microbiology and infectious disease society but there were a certain amount of mycologists in the audience.
SUNO which means to listen in Urdu, psilocybin has placed me in a situation where I can listen, listen to what there is but you may only listen when you break free from the chains of yesterday. This piece is my little contribution to this community from which I have been learning silently and I have learned a lot. I hope you all get a chance to listen

This thread was moved from Advanced Mycology.
Reason: Not really an advanced topic, I feel this would get more views in a different forum.

You should try bruising the myc to get some blue streaks or swirls in the background.
I thought this was gonna be like the guys that make pictures using different molds as colors, but this is cool too.
