What to do with possible wet substrate
    #26517943 - 03/05/20 04:32 AM (3 years, 10 months ago)

I have a CV mono tub going which I has been dealing with quite a bit of pooling under the liner due to lots of condensation.

I have dealt with the condensation by placing towels on top to insulate and have drained the tub of excess water.

My first question is does excessive pooling of water mean I over hydrated the substrate or is it purely due to temp differences and condensation.

Secondly I have changed from using poly to micropore tape over my holes afyer reading a few convincing posts. I have only placed one layer of tape over the bottom holes to combat the pooling problem. Is this a good idea or not?

If your repeatedly dumping water out you may have prepped the sub too wet. Better to prep it on dry side. It looks like it's colonizing well enough. I see shrooms in the future.

Give it more air if it stays too wet.

leave it. if it's just going behind the liner it's not an issue and doesn't mean Mich of anything other than your substrate is producing heat and making a temp differential

exactly. bro believe that. Just leave the tub be. put a trash bag over it if you want and just keep it in a closet or something lol. It will fully colonize man! dont worry

turn a fan on and move air. It will evaporate and dry and increase FAE. Most deal with a lack of moisture and have trouble getting FC. When I see a wet tub, I put it closer to a fan or window.

no fans no garbage bags just leave it...a sub at field capacity can lose  enough moisture to almost fucking float it doesn't mean your substrate was too wet.
