Hi Yall,
I live at around 9500 feet elevation. i just purchased an "All American 930 Canner Pressure Cooker, 30 qt" because my last PC was only rated for 15 and I was pretty certain this all american was rated for 22 psi
(especially since here shows a elevation chart that says if your at 10k ft you need 20-22)
but people answering questions on amazon were saying it cant go above 15-17psi...
So now i am confused and wondering if anyone knows the truth? and if it cant go above 17psi, what modification would i have to make to it to make it go to 20-22 psi?
Thank you so much for your help<3 MushLove

I think you're confusing the "Pressure Canner" with the "Sterilizer".
The stock model PC will go to 15 psi with the provided weight. If you want to go higher than that, you will need to go with a "Sterilizer" model, or do some modifications to the PC. Ive never done it, but I suspect that the mod you need would be the upgraded toggle valve.

That and making sure your blowout plug is also rated for slightly higher then the toggle is set for. You don't want a 18 psi plug if you're running at 20

Thank you Bodhi<3 I take it its a much safer bet to just buy a AA sterilizer, no?

I don't think it's any safer if you buy one or upgrade a pressure cooker into a sterilizer. Unless you're incapable of changing two items out
