Mixed spore experiment ps. Cyan vs. ps. Cube mycelial growth
    #26516622 - 03/04/20 02:21 PM (3 years, 10 months ago)

Hi there, long time lurker breaking out of the spore. Thanks for all the great advice everyone!

To the point; has anyone mistakenly or otherwise mixed psilocybe cyanescens spore with psilocybe cubensis in a multispore syringe?

After making a batch of fresh psilocybe cyanescens (possibly subaeruginosa) spore syringes had a bunch of leftover ms solution, and a freshly emptied cubensis syringe, and no patience after a long day to re-sterilize so into the cyan beaker it went then realized there would still be some cubensis spore that had not ejected from the syringe.
So one syringe is mixed species and labeled as so.

Using whole oat jars, and curious as to which mycelium would colonize fastest if this mixed spore syringe is used?

Imagine if incubated at cooler temps, as are the conditions, psilocybe cyanescens mycelium would overtake the cubensis, and vice versa if incubated at warmer temps the cube mycelium would prevail.

But hypothetically if temps are between optimal range for both species any idea which mycelium would win?

Also would the two mycelial species be distinguishable from one another in the grain culture so that the proper following cultivation method could be chosen depending on the remaining mycelium present upon completion?

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the patience in this off the wall inquiry.🙏
