Windows 10 Question
    #26511522 - 03/01/20 02:51 PM (3 years, 11 months ago)

I recently changed my MoBo on my PC and when i did, the "Sleep" option disappeared. Did Windows get rid of it or did my motherboard cause it somehow?

It is part of the o/s. Make sure all drivers are working. If they are ok, use google to search your issue, https://www.isumsoft.com/windows-10/fix-sleep-option-missing-from-power-menu.html

Have you made sure to reinstall your drivers? I know when I swapped my mobo on my old windows 10 desktop I had to reinstall all my drivers.

I was under the assumption that Win10 installed drivers automatically. Perhaps i need to do it manually for my MoBo?

A manual driver update may indeed help. Generally Windows will auto-recognize the basic functionality of the chipset, but it may miss the ball on more advanced/manufacturer-specific functionality. E.g. Intel has released driver packages for Windows OS's for about 2 decades and they generally improve functionality on top of default Windows functionality. So scoot over to the website of the manufacturer of either the motherboard or the actual chipset used and get the latest driver packages. Don't rely blindly on Windows' auto-detect functionality as it may not be perfect particularly for this category of devices and functions.

I'm pretty sure it does that when you do an initial install, and for new things you connect like USBs, etc... However motherboards I believe need to be reinstalled, but I'm not 100% sure.
