So I poured my first sleeve last night, and have a few questions. I read Bods tek and such, but why not have a discussion. Overall it’s quite simple but still.
You have 400mL in your media bottle. Can you leave it in the PC overnight for like 18 hour and just give it a hot water bath to gel back up? ( I didn’t like the microwave.)
It’s back into a liquid. Your sleeve of petris are still sealed in their bag. Do you unseal it with gloves on in the SAB?
You’re petris are in the SAB, your media bottle is ready and in the SAB. You reapply iso, uncap the bottle, and take a Petri dish. You set it down, uncover it (trying not to have your hand over the Petri dish whilst doing this.) You’re holding the top of the Petri dish, and carefully pour your plate without having your hand go above it.
You cap the dish, put it’s in its place, and do it again. Finally, you have a stack of 20 petris. Put a cup of hot water on the You want to inoculate tonight. How long do you normally wait? Anything I did wrong?

i dont see the point of the hot water thing. mine clear up after a few days if i leave them stacked.
small amount of fluid it cools quick. an hour? i wait until its hard
i open my sleeves inside the sab from the bottom and kinda pinch out the stack like cookie dough

Oops I meant to erase the hot water part, I guess if one is trying to pour but get condensation on a few the hot water may help? Do you just leave them stacked inside the SAB without wrapping them? I think I saw other people doing that. I meant it’s all pretty simple, just felt like I was doing something wrong.
I poured too much on a few, and some hardened on a damn angle. Fuck me so dumb lol..

Bro lol that’s how the majority of mine look. Thanks for that picture you got me laughing. I feel you, I’m buying a 500 pack of petris off amazon and some extra agar. Just going to keep at it, I have two shoeboxes going and 7 WBS and 6 BRF going (wanted to see BRF bulk but not doing anymore.)
Can’t wait to start transferring. Would be exciting to get clean culture and watch it grow in the quarts.... 🥴
