Will keep an eye on it and only toss if discoloration or odd smells present themselves then.

Would moving my jars into an area with indirect light help? Since inoculation, the jars have been sitting in the box that they're in when you buy them and in a closet with the door closed.

Yes, give them light if possible. Its an old myth to keep mycelium in the dark. Light at any stage is good for growth.

Birthed 7 jars tonight (including the jar pictured in this thread).  They had a ton of pins and got so excited to birth em for their dunk that I forgot to take pics to post here

I found that I had a hard time rinsing some of the dry verm layer off.  Almost like it was maybe partially colonized.  Is this normal?

Yeah, its normal. Typically the mycelium will grab onto some of the dry verm layer. Its all good and actually makes for a great pinning area :thumbup:
