They’ll start to get soft when they’re ready, and they usually pop off pretty clean and easy.
Looks like those might be close.

Ok thanks. I was just concerned with the blue spots that were forming on a few of them.

Sometimes raising the temps a little can make PE stop with the blobbing.

I raised the temp a little but not one normal pin, im definitely going to use a casing lawyer on the next flush or the next grow attempt.I did read that the blue spots mean they are ready to pick but i also read that they will also be soft when they are ready to pick....they are all still hard as rocks, even the blue spots so that was what was causing some confusion as to if i should harvest some of them.

I’ve been itching to, actually. I figure I can use much shorter containers, which means more tubs per stack and more yield per sq ft.
Just a matter of finding the perfect tubs. Like those under-the-bed storage totes, but smaller.

Underbed but smaller is a shoebox or bootbox. Same height.

Interesting.
I see a little hint of blob-like appearance on them, but this mutated version is crazy. Ive had blobs once, I think it was when I colonized some PF jars over the winter. It made them all weird on a couple cakes.

Hold on, so how do people fruit regular cubes in them?
Thanks for the tip. Gonna give it a try once I got the space for them.
The smallest I went was mini-monos, which are ~6-7in tall.

Dub them or use a grocery bag if they get big, but I rarely have them go tall enough for that. A lot of the time they’ll just barely get taller than the sides and you can still leave the lid resting on top. They’re pretty deep unless you use 2 quarts of spawn or a ton of coir. I always do one quart spawn and fill it with coir til the little line on the side.
Even these ones got good size and still fit no problem.

I'm really not sure, this was my first experience with PE.Ive seen a few vendors that had prices a few dollars cheaper then the site i posted but usually they are around the same price....can you recommend a cheaper vendor?

not supposed to discuss vendors here (cause the spores are sold for microscopy pujrposes and this is mush cult)
I say to wait until the blobs are kinda soft before harvesting. Once you see how they look you'll know.
PE blobs are potent, try a 50/50 casing next time might help reduce your blobs

I was going to use a casing if i got a second flush or the next grow attempt.I read that its not wise to use a casing that has any nutritional value so i was going to try a casing layer using Perlite.

No don’t do that. Jiffy 5050 mix or peat moss and lime. Or even a mix of like 70verm 30coir

I’ve always had good results with jiffy. My first PE run I did three shoeboxes two cased with 5050 and one uncased. The two cases both put out 350 first flushes and uncased was a handful of blobs. Maybe 50 grams wet
Second flush was alright though.
