Hey y'all, so nice to meet all you good folks and read all your great ideas and happy ramblings. I am new to this awesome forum and also in the aggravating "patience" phase of my first grow in 25 years. Hoping I can still make the magic. A month into my 1st and 2nd gen 5 qt jars of oats aspawning, and my 1st bulk tub running mycelium in horse poo. Going strong too! Hope to be fruiting soon! Tried to upload some pics to this post but having trouble..sorry.

Thank you Randalf, nice to meet you! I'm still trying to figure out my way around this forum and how to post pictures, hopefully I will get it down soon. It amazes me all the good people who are on here offering up help for fellow freshmen mycologists. But it also amazes me that alot of the noobs can figure all this stuff on the forum out and post many pics (I having trouble with) but can't grow fungus lol. Maybe I'm  just an old soul.😁

After a few months of starting up my first ever agar work, cloning from growbox and a ton of transfers, I've been prepping and inoculating grain jars for the past few weekends.

Tomorrow its finally time to start expanding to substrate and start fruiting (hopefully haha). Planning to make a ton of shoeboxes tomorrow, super excited!

A few pictures of my trials:

Nice share. Looks like a lot of time put in there. You can make a ton of shoe boxes or a few hundred lbs of tubs!

Thanks! Its been eating up quite a bit of my time indeed. Wanted to do things properly my 2nd time around cultivation (did some PF and spores>grain>monotub in a distant past).

Cant wait also to finally access the marketplace here, its been 10 years coming haha, almost... Would love to grow different varieties and species in the time to come

Finished last of the 80 plates I poured. 50 more cooling in SAB. 500ml of low nute agar and 500ml extra soft sagari (1.7g agar). 3 ea plates on top except gt; ran out. I have a full list coming tonight in my journal, and link to that log (Genesis II: Electric Boogaloo). If it's not there, check back later. This is a massive restart for me, and it grew while I was doing it so this is going to be a challenge to keep up with but I'm going to give it the ol college try.

Thank you so much Sockadin, nice to meet you! Looks like you got the major project lab going on there. I am currently remodeling the back room at my house to do the very same. Had a bad mold problem so I decided to bleach everything, walls and ceiling and repaint with killz mold kill paint to be on the safe side. My gf thinks I go a bit overkill on sanitizing things, but we know it pays off in the long run. I guess I am a bit of a germaphobe anyway. But hey, no such thing as too clean! It's like too much money or too powerful wicked shrooms lol, no such thing right?. Anyway great to meet you! Will keep y'all posted on my progress, and can't wait to see your fruits!

Appreciate that but trust me, you get no shame from me. Just kinda throwing everything I have at it and seeing what sticks. I know some of my prints\mss are filthy, I suspect others are less than clean, and I hope that at least a few make this easy on me. If I haven't abandoned all of these in 6 or 7 weeks, then I'll give myself some credit. Haha. Right now, I'm just a guy with a lot of petri dishes and time on my hands.

I really need to make some transfers after work. Like iv had the plates poured for 3 days now and im just getting really discouraged because many of my last grows turned green. But I'm working my way through the process to figure out the issue and how to solve it.

Has anyone tried Josex Biopsy method for transferring to agar?

My scalpel sucks balls, it doesn't fit the blade so I have to tape it until proper size scalpel arrives to do transfers with agar.

However, anyone have any luck doing myc transfers from agar to blank agar? Do you think it takes too long? Looking for a way to transfer from agar to agar without a scalpel.

Have you guys tried the poke method??

I am PC'ing some agar as we speak  BRF agar
