Elevated rack for SAB?

For my SAB I need one of those wired elevated shelf things that everyone uses to place their things on inside the SAB. What are you guys using for that? Where do you get those?

I use a wire rack from a mini-refrigerator elevated with jars. Check your local Goodwill or just hit Walmart as they have different racks like that in housewares where all the other culinary stuff is. You'll find some good ones for pie/cake cooling, which as such will be with associated cookwware.

They have racks with the collapsable legs like this at Walmart, Target, etc...

I don't get the purpose for use with a SAB. Just something that gives you less headroom in your box.

Because contamination settles to the ground in a SAB and getting off the ground means less contams in the air, also picking a dish up off a rack will also cause less air currents than picking one off the ground.
I used a cookie drying rack when I had a SAB. Any department store in the cooking section will have spice racks or something else you can use. Even the local dollar store has racks.

So you wouldn't use a rack/elevation. Bod? Interesting. Can't argue that is kills your headroom for sure... (principle reason I'm building my own SAB is headspace...). I get lazy and don't use my rack so randomly that I guess I can't speak to the effect of it's being there or not, but if you feel it to be a pointless exercise, I might have to reconsider it's value. It is kind of annoying and awkward.

I personally find it to be entirely pointless for SAB use. Especially as evidenced by the fact i never used one and never had problems with a SAB

I have been using one for the same reason as Ayeplus. Maybe for my next session I will ditch it and see if I experience any issues.

When I used an SAB I used an elevated cookie/baking rack
It isnt mandatory by any means, but it did get my success rate up from about 93% to 98% using an SAB, across several thousand plates and a shit ton of bags and jars
Definitely restricts your headroom tho like bod said, which is why I built a custom plexiglass sab with a low floor and high ceiling specifically for that reason. Not really an issue until you try to work with bags tho
