Update of G. Guzman's "The Genus Psilocybe"

I am aware that researchers at the Institute of Ecology in Xalapa in Mexico are working on an updated version of Guzman's The Genus Psilocybe: A systematic revision of the known species including the history, distribution, and chemistry of the hallucinogenic species from 1983.
As well, that among those working on it are Laura Guzman and Alan Rockefeller; but I can't find any information since about 2018 at the latest.
I wonder if there has been any update?
I'd also be interested to know if the goal of the updated version is to realign the genus based on DNA sequencing analysis, as I know Alan (and other members of this forum who contributed to sending samples) have done great work recently in building our understanding of different species of mushroom based on this kind of comparison.

It's being done section by section, currently section Zapotecorum is being worked on. Recent DNA results have expanded significantly the number of species in section Zapotecorum.
I don't think anything will be released soon, we are all pretty busy.

That's exciting news! Is there any work that could be crowd-sourced? For example, soon I will go to la Coruña to investigate some p. gallaeciae and p. hispanica locations and intend to send samples to AVALAB here in Spain for analysis.
Would that kind of effort help at all to offload the financial and temporal burden of a project like this?

My favorite section! The more the better, but I'm still getting used to the Barrerae change some years ago I have to admit, I see no difference between that and your Sawmill find under the scope though. Oddly enough Sawmill is still the more sensitive of the two cultivars.

It's section Zapotecorum that is being worked on right now, here's a tree of the species in section Zapotecorum for which ITS sequences are available, with P. caerulescens as an ouytgroup:

P. meridionalis is also in section Zapotecorum, and there's surely others not sequenced yet.

That's really cool!
Speaking of undentified zapotecorum species, Did you happen to get a sample of the "non-Papuana" mystery Zapo for sequencing from Jake?
Those spores came from an unidentified zapo from NSW. From Bob's find: https://mushroomobserver.org/361911?q=zWUY
I had been working on producing a type collection until I had a mixup with the naming of my dishes and lost my cultures. What's even worse is I couldn't start a new one because I had given away all the spores. Luckily Jake's attempts turned out well.
I've been curious of whether they are a new species or just misidentified.

Yes, I have a sample of that, and was able to visit Jake and photograph them in person.
My photos and sequence data is here: https://mushroomobserver.org/401380
