Add a small neodymium magnet to the shaft of your screwdriver to more strongly hold screws/fasteners when required.

Use nail polish to color code your keys

You can also coat the bottom of metal cans left in the bathroom with nail polish to help prevent leaving rust-ring stains

When painting, remember to press the edge of your masking tape down, to prevent paint from bleeding underneath.

When you have an open tube of caulking you want to keep, stick a screw in the end and then apply some tape over(not seen in picture) the opening and screw, to try to reduce air exposure. When you need it again, you can take the tape off and pull-out the screw which should bring with it the dried up bits of caulking at the end, which would otherwise plug up the opening. Works for me, but some types of caulking just like hardening up, even if not opened, no matter what you do, so as a bonus tip: check the expiry dates of caulking you are buying.

Another method for cleaning out stubborn gunk from your files, other than using a file brush, is the piece of copper technique.
Cut open a piece of copper pipe/tube and flatten it out, then run the edge along the file, in the direction of the grain of the file. The file will quickly cut grooves into the soft copper making teeth which reach down into the grooves of the file dislodging the embedded dirt/material.
The process can be better seen in the video below:

You can get very affordable (<$30) USB inspection camera's that can be used with your phone for a very handy tool when needed.
