Do you have it? Or did you pay up front?

What is your experience?

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Nah, I picked a career that I only needed an associates degree + certification & license for, went to a community college & got grants to cover it.

Had about $12,000 in college debt without getting the 4 year degree.  Got a decent paying job in a factory, worked a shit ton of overtime, and paid it off in about 6 years.

Yea it sucked giving up all my free time to pay off my student loans, but I would do it again in a second.  I don't like debt.

I just went back to finish, I don't have debt, yet. My company is reimbursing my tuition, but I might have to take out a student loan if I go for a heavier course load, because they'll only pay for so many credit hours at a time.

Nah I got grants and my tuition paid for because I grew up poor.  So I was eligible for financial aid.

I actually got paid like $4,500 every semester by applying for certain grants

But I dropped out my third semester cause I got kicked out of a music festival that summer and then totaled my car on my way home , so I didn’t have a way to get there anymore.

I’m so old you could pay your tuition AND rent with a part time job

I worked two part time jobs to be honest. Janitor in the AM and dishwasher at night -

The janitor gig was 4 hour shifts but I could do it in two so I studied for two hours there

It was on campus so I went to class. Went home after class. Studied some more. Washed dishes from six to 10. Usually went out and got fucked up. Slept four hours or so and went back to it.

Tbh I skipped class a lot. There was no mandatory attendance mandatory meal plan bullshit back then.

College now is retarded. They treat you like youre still in high school. Classes are stupid group projects. The “professors” can’t lecture. Tuition is ten times as high. They charge you for stupid ass shit and these huge corporations own the cafeterias. And the job options suck when you get out.

And if you did take student loans back in my day they weren’t nearly so aggressive about getting it back.

I'd rather pay for my own education because it makes it worth more. Just my 2 cents. Also Adam Kokesh will cut federal responsibility and shift social programs to the state level. Then you'd have an easier time voting for free education.

I had close to $180K in student loan debt when I finished school. That was 1997. The rates were much better than they are now, but I hated the debt so I paid them off as fast as I could. I think I paid the last one in about 2005 or 2006. That felt so fucking good.

I lucked out. All my colleagues have BAs and student loans. I worked my way up with an associates degree that was almost all covered by pel grants.

I am not going to thrust a college path on my kids. Trade school or apprenticeship makes way more sense today. If Bernie really manages to make college 'free' then that will be one less thing to think about.

I graduated with $50k in debt in 2015. Got a decently high paying job out of college (mechanical engineer), so the monthly payments weren't too bad. Recently paid off the last ~$30k with inheritance money from my grandfather.

ITT tech is the worst. We interviewed engineers straight out of there who couldn't explain dhcp or tell us how to even beging diagnosing DNS issues.

We learned all of that in 10th and 11th grade internetworking class, at my public high school.

I came out of college owing a lotta money. Killed it in a year selling drugs. Was so glad to be out when it was over, it was a hectic year but beat paying it off with hard earned cash.

I just paid mine off a couple of months ago. So glad I went into nursing. I would still be tending bar/waiting tables right now. I deferred payments as long as I could without adding too much interest. I then started payments and was NEVER late EVER on one payment. I also doubled up (or more) and paid as much as possible on top of the minimum required payments. My credit score was 820 last year.

Even if you do a CNA or LPN, you can do the RN degree online and those are excepted WAY more these days than they were 10 years ago. Plus it's sort of at your own pace until the clinical portion, that's a bitch to fit in, but SO worth it in the long run. Nursing will always have job security, no matter what! LPN actually makes decent money of you have no kids.

CNA programs get completed in a short span of 2 weeks or may take 12 weeks if they are part-time or weekend-based. The position of an LPN comes with power and responsibility. It requires the students to acquire skills and have command over particular subjects.

You need to complete a degree, diploma or certificate program in practical nursing to become an LPN. ... Although you can't get an LPN degree online; you can do some of the classes online and others on-campus. Also, you can register for LPN to RN/BSN online programs, but that is after you complete your LPN degree.

How long does it take to become an LPN?
12 months
Full-time licensed practical nurse (LPN) training programs typically take around 12 months to complete. These programs are available from many community colleges, vocational schools, and universities and may include around 40 credit hours of coursework

Get and "accredited" degree!

https://www.accreditedschoolsonline.org/practical-nursing/cna-to-lpn-programs/

Courses in an Online LPN-to-RN Program
LPN-to-RN online programs cover the additional material and field training LPNs need to pass the NCLEX-RN. Most courses can be completed online, but the required clinical hours must be completed in person at an approved facility.Jul 3, 2019

I think CNA can, but there is clinical's that must be performed in person at a facility because there are numerous jobs that will be in facilities doing that clinical stuff, lol. You can do most things you put your mind and body to! 26 year 10th HS dropout with a GED, and went back to get an RN degree, you can do it.

IMO college debt is plenty worth it for a career you really enjoy. You're investing the money to spend 40 hours a week doing something fulfilling or that you actually like.

I'll have 90k in debt for my masters which I'll finish next year. With income based repayment or a longer loan period it's just another few hundred a month, which is easily made up for by living slightly more frugally

Exactly. I doubt I would have got my job without a degree - too much competition. Well worth the money.
