Foods you feel guilty about having with ketchup.

I think ketchup on breakfast foods is gross for example. I had a buddy who would put it on his eggs, potatoes and even toast in the morning. I judged him pretty hard.
I've hear of people putting it on steak too, and just today on this website someone said they were eating tacos with ketchup
Most of us put it on burgers, hotdogs, french fries, some of us even put it on chicken fingers/chicken nuggets. But what do you put it on that you are embarrassed about?
for me its fish. only if its cooked of course and usually its breaded if im putting ketchup on it.

Ice cream and spaghetti noodles. I'm not as much embarrassed as I am ashamed.

I find it gross on eggs. On chicken nuggets I can barely tolerate it. Mostly just eat it on fries, hamburgers, hotdogs, onion rings etc.

I mean if you look at what ketchup is made from I think it goes great with any meat. It's just tomatoes and vinegar and seasonings really.
No guilt here. I go hard on the condiments.

Ketchup is only rarely good with French fries. It's a terrible condiment. It's pretty gross tasting on it's own and doesn't do any favors to anything.

I would have to say my use of ketchup aligns pretty close with yours. I would add regular potato chips and grilled cheese to my list....you can skip the tomato soup if you dip in ketchup.
My wife and kids however put ketchup on all kinds of stuff that I just dont find appealing. Someone stated previously about putting it on steak, my wife does that and it secretly enrages me. We buy a 1/2 beef at a time and its usually choice grade or slightly better....so why would you put ketchup on a butter basted melt in your mouth ribeye ...maybe Im not a good a cook as i thought and shes just drowning out the flavor

Ketchup and cheese don't belong anywhere near fish. With the exception of parmesan crusted fish.
Cheddar near fish triggers me. You'll be treated like child if you cheddar your fish.

I eat ketchup on french fries, fried egg sandwich and mcmuffins and stuff, mac and cheese(equal ketchup and hot sauce) hotdogs with bun,( if I eat a hotdog without a bun I use plum sauce though), hamburgers, the only weird thing I think I eat ketchup on is chicken I think, specially white meat, I just think its good with ketchup

While I do agree that 99% of the time people should be free to eat however they want and without judgment (yes even Asante), I think many people are excessively opinionated on what others put in their mouths. What someone eats isn't going in your mouth so I've never understood why people judge so critically on what others eat. That said, below:

I think there is a line of no return that exists somewhere within the space time continuum and putting ketchup on cheerios is probably beyond that line.

I love that spicy ketchup on tacos. It delicious. Dont dismiss it till ya try it.
I put ketchup on so many things, fries, burgers, eggs, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, even egg rolls when i dont have any sweet n sour available. Love that ketchup. Zero shame here.

I'm interested to know how they would actually react in this situation. Making a big show of being offended would not make much sense since treating the customer rudely jeopardizes their potential tip, and the waiter is not the person who cooked it anyway. Do they apologize profusely for having no ketchup?

Salmon and cream cheese sushi is one of my favourite things on the planet.
Also if im having fish burgers i will put kraft singles and ketchup on it. fight me.
lots of people lox and cream cheese bagels too. cheese and fish arent acctually that uncommon when you think about it.
I should note I only put ketchup on white fish, never salmon and only if its cooked which is an inferior way to eat fish anyway.

I've heard where top tier steakhouses don't even carry steak sauce, that way that option doesn't even exist for the customer. Which I do agree with because if you're paying for a $50 plus dollar cut of premium beef, then the beef itself should be rightfully featured without any condiments there to mask it.
Ketchup though I'm not sure as far as steakhouses not carrying it in house; they probably would if they served their own version of house fries so I'm not sure how they'd react if the customer asked for ketchup with their steak.
I think they'd probably give it to them but then go straight to the kitchen and tell everybody for the lulz.

Yeah I'm not sure what you're talking about either. I was talking about commercial ketchup brands containing a lot of sugar and not just tomatoes and vinegar. My bottle of Heinz ketchup lists liquid sugar as the second ingredient, and it says every 15 ml contains 5 grams of carbohydrates.

I mean, i would think they would. I like A1 sauce on my steaks but to the hardcore steak lover, this is simply unacceptable
Sauces on foods really brings out the purists/fusion food people out. Im more of a fusion-food lover: I love mixing dfferent flavors together. Fries by itself is pretty plain but with ketchup, now its a "complete" meal of u will.

A steak sauce built from the fond from cooking the steak is the only sauce that will work on a steak. Nothing from a bottle

I just think the aspect of getting offended over what others like is goofy. Also the rigid orthodoxy around it. Though personally I do think it's kind of a waste to combine high end ingredients with cheap trash if I'm the one buying and eating.
I find it hilarious that Trump gives no fucks about eating well done steak with ketchup. Not how I like to eat it but I like that he doesn't give a shit if people think it's sacrilege.

Never had such a sauce but sounds very nice.
Psi, its definitely silly. I find it interesting that people have Dogma's about food. Like you should never put ketchup on tacos. Or good steaks dont need sauce. Its true, but some people like stronger flavors. I like to open my mind to new possibilities cause Varitey is the Spice of Life.
That being said, Im not putting ketchup on cereal. Thats just taking it too far

Make one lol. Its easy.
Buy a easy to cook steak like a ny strip. Cook it to rare to medium. In a pan that isn't non stick. Never use non stick pans they have no place in your home. Put it on a tray in a warm (170F oven).
Deglaze the pan use some bourbon whiskey. Scrape the bits up with a wood spoon. Reduce heat. Pour in cold cream or butter or sour cream.
Add some shallots and green peppercorns
Reduce it down a bit. Put your dinner plates in the warm oven.
Take warm plates out put steak on plates. Pour sauce half way over steak and serve immediately

At the end of the day I totally agree. Especially with food. A lot of people seem to be way overly opinionated when it comes to food. Every single human on earth has a different palate and just because one thinks something is amazing, the next may find inedible. But a large number of people will judge hard on what someone else eats. It's weird.

Cast iron ftw
That sounds pretty close to steak diane if im not mistaken. Not exactly, but the sauce sounds close. A1 sauce is delicious in a bloody mary but it wont touch my steak, not even if there was a fire.

Im in the "Never Had Them" category myself.
I have had Canadian-styled "All Dressed Up" chips. Those are strange.

Perhaps its a Mandela Effect
I probably just mis-remembered the label. Its probably just "All Dressed".
Whats your least favorite chip? Mines vinegar chips.

Chips are my favourite snack food, I like almost all of them, but the ones I dont really care for are Presidents Choice World of Flavour chips

Interesting, huh
Cool bag design. I like that.
I guess I like the more "exotic" flavors like Cool Ranch, BBQ and Chiptole chips.
