Recommendations on a chef's knife?

I feel that I'm finally at a level of cooking that I can justify owning a really nice chef's knife. Something that's comfortable to hold, durable, heavy, sexy Preferably under $200.
Any suggestions?

I've always wanted to get a Yoshihiro Knife. $200 is pretty entry level for Yoshihiro but still top quality stuff. Also Bob Kramer by Zwilling (Henkels) is another dream knife for me.

Either the Shun Classic Chefs knife or the Premier Shun Chefs Knife.
I have bought several knives for gifts. Tried a lot of them. Shun is just incredible.
Wustof makes a superior strength knife though if youre a barbarian when you cook. If you have patience and like SUPREME sharp go with the shun.
I am absolutely nuts about the premier set but it is more expensive.

I would rather recommend a Wushtoff classic and then some good grade sharpenning tools.

That shun better than sex bae.
If op wants a meatier and more prone to abuse blade that wont crack get the wustof. If op wants a blade that stays sharp as fuck for AGES and just cant be banging it on the table... get that incredible shun.
I vote shun.

Richmond Artifex. Bought one almost a decade ago, use it daily, as good as new. Holds an edge, simple design, good steel. No need to spend crazy ¥ for a great knife. https://www.chefknivestogo.com/riariigy21.html

I bought this blade blank off Ebay. It's damascus with copper bolsters. I made the handle with copper liners, copper corby bolts and a copper mosaic pin. I call it the Copper King. The wood is golden amboyna burl.
I love how the shape came out, and that's one sexy wood.

I used a Tojiro Fujitora 3 layer Japanese steel gyuto knife for years in kitchens until it was stolen. Highly recommend it.

So what did you get? If you haven't already then let me throw in my all time favorite chefs knife which is Forschner Victorinox. Get a rosewood handle if you want fancy or get a Fibrox version if you want a kitchen workhorse both will treat you well for several years.

I didn't pull the trigger yet but soon! I have a new Babish cast iron skillet on the way, which is going to be my new baby. I'm so thrilled to be getting my cooking inventory back up and running and I'm going to get myself a knife for christmas. I recently lost everything I owned in a drunken/suicidal depression and moved to SoCal to start things over. I'm doing great, all things considered.
It's gonna suck trying to find another All American pressure cooker, though. Mine was a beast and I dropped like $300 on it back in the day. I used it for so much more that mushrooms, too, and I need that behemoth back in my life!
