Alot of them are gonna be pretty small because I didn't cull them much but I wanted them small anyway. Hopefully they still give decent pods.

Is this the start of multiple pods?? The only time I have had success they where really small and only made one small pod.

They all came from packets of Lauren's grape poppies and looked like any other poppy seed I have seen before so I just assumed they were poppies.  The leaves look like poppy leaves to me, but like I said I'm pretty inexperienced.

Yes, I have had as many as 8 before. I even had one plant back in Florida keep on pushing out pods every time I would cut the old ones off. I have only had that happen one time in all my years of growing them though.

I'm curious to see what they end up being. I'm not familiar with what ever it is. I'm assuming the seed packet was just filled with the wrong seeds/mislabeled.

I've got seeds from that brand before, from my local grocery store, I got the variety "Black Swan" from them last year and that's def what they were.

I recall you mentioning that a while back in this thread or a PM....

....Do you do so when they are still fresh, or when dry? Or either way.

At first thought, in my mind I imagined eating a fresh pod that is still kinda green/not super ripe and figured that'd be pretty gnarly to chew up and get down lol....but thinking about it again, I can see eating a dry pod that has lost some of it's green/being fully ripe wouldn't be as bad. I might try it with one of my last few remaining pods just out of curiosity lol.

With my tea it's just one or two gulps and it's down & done....It's not the most rank tasting tea I've had but it's def up there lol. Only cactus tea and syrian rue tea are worse/more difficult for me lol. At least with poppy tea the bitterness and taste doesn't linger on the tongue like it does with cactus or rue, it washes away pretty quickly.

Oh I intend to. I have experience with ppt and opiates but no tolerance at the moment. Probably going to make two batches with two pods each (one for g/f and one for myself) and sip to feel it out. Trying to figure out how to prepare the fresh pods as I do want to save the seeds from those big ones.. May use 3 small pods for each instead of two big.

I am super excited as these are only a drop of water in the pond that is my garden.

I eat them fresh and raw. They are much easier to get down fresh, opposed to dry though, let me tell you. They get really tough when dry, and take forever to chew up and get down.

My pods were really weak though, and it took way too many to get a good buzz going!

I ate over 20 one day, just because they are so weak. It takes at least 8 or more to get a good buzz off them too.

I think that I'm going to try some other varieties next season.

On a side not eating pods isn't that bad, and they don't really taste  as bad as some other concoctions that I've put in my mouth, especially  edibles that I have made with cannabis. That cannabis taste is enough to gag a maggot!

If the pods you were working with were that weak then perhaps they weren't all that bitter/pungent tasting. But that makes sense about fresh being much easier to get down than dry, I didn't think about that part lol. I was just thinking about the "green" taste more than the texture. When it comes to mushrooms I very much prefer chewing and eating fresh mushrooms rather than dry (I actually enjoy the texture of em' fresh lol).

I can really enjoy the taste of cannabis tho. At least the canna-coconut oil and edibles I make with it.

To savor and enjoy the flavor of the herb itself and not mixed up with other strong flavors, I like to slather the canna-infused coconut oil on toasted sour dough bread with a pinch of sea salt :drooling: . I find it to be delicious.

I know some folks just don't like the taste in general. I know a few people that don't enjoy the taste. It can be a pungent & funky taste but I think it depends how it was made too....what sort of oil/fat it was infused into and how long it was done and how hot and how well it was filtered & cleaned up etc etc.

Yeah, I normally just grow a few poppies out every season with all my other plants, so I stopped worrying about whether they were potent or not.

Now I used to seek out and grow potent varieties back in the day :awesomenod:

I have had this strain for a few years now, but now, I kinda want to get some potent ones just for the hell for it

All the Cannabis concoctions that I've always made taste just plain awful, and 90 percent of the time they don't even work at all. I wasted a good half pound of buds last harvest making edibles that didn't work, or were extremely weak. And yes I even decarbed my herb too.

I don't like eating cannabis at all really, I'd just rather smoke it. It's just way too much trouble, and it stinks up your house something awful!

To each his own I guess

Oh,and I also prefer eating fresh shrooms over dry, but both taste great to me!
