Damn wind! I would never try to correct them though, and you can see why.

I moved this year and so was only able to plant a very small bed much later than usual. Gonna throw in my 2 cents:
Whoever said you can plant too early is not necessarily correct. I scatter mines in the middle of winter in order to let them acclimate. This lets the ones suited to their little micro-area choose to grow when it suits them. It also gives them a head start on pests.
I buy like a pound of the unwashed seeds, but instead of making tea I plant them. Mix the seed with a little sand, otherwise they'll grow in clumps and choke each other out. The sand-scatter helps give them some room. It's also a good idea to do another sowing periodically, in case something goes wrong.
Transplanting is possible, but not recommended or helpful. If you do go this route, make sure to use peat-pellets or another kind of container that goes directly into the ground so you don't disturb the routes.

This is the site I used a few years ago, but they seem to have dropped the bulk option. I plant the generic bulk seeds, then selectively plant the more specialty varieties since they're more expensive.
Instead of making tea, I make a big fruit smoothie in the blender, and add whole pods until it starts to taste bitter. The wild thing about these, at least for me, is every experience is completely different. Sometimes peaceful and sleepy, sometimes energetic and lucid, sometimes just kinda nauseating and unfun at first. It's also a little bit of a chore, because the effects last 2-3 days sometimes, so you really gotta plan ahead.
Of course, be very careful with dosing and make sure to avoid alcohol after using.
If you're going to thin them, try to go in with scissors--but really avoid molesting the plants at all costs until they're quite established. The less hands-on you are, the better.

Ok, so it's nothing that I did wrong then. Not all of my poppies have it, just maybe, four or five.
Speaking of my poppies, it's been pouring down rain since late last night, and my poppies decided to bloom
All of them are beat down, and the petals were knocked off the ones that bloomed
Good luck with that field of dreams

It rained hard for several hours straight, but amazingly these two are still standing tall albeit suffering from moderate damage to their petals.

It's probably good that I just threw some poppy seeds in with my other flowers, and that I didn't devote too much time solely to them.
My weather here just wont allow it anymore, and I probably wont even bother next season.

I'm getting secondary buds on some of the plants, and a few even have three bud sites.

This one is pretty tall, it comes right up just below my neck tall.
