mutants ? 2

Ok, Here's some bizarre pics from my latest grow ( again ) Not sure why I'm having poor luck getting normal looking shrooms, but I think this may explain the previous post as many are a g2g from that same batch.

Main questions ...
I assume this is genetic mutations and nothing to be worried about?
some of these pics are from a fruiting chamber, some are from bod-style shoe boxes and the same results, So I assume it's not grow conditions that they are reacting to?
Anyone seen similar?
Should I care about contams, potency, etc. or just ignore the funky shapes?
I think I'm going back to MS and start over next round at any rate.
thanks!

Looks like mutation to me but maybe it's some weird crazy contamination I've never seen, would like to see others chime in on this

As you have a few of them, are you setup to tissue culture(clone) one of them? Cool looking little cotton heads.
I've seen chem exposure(like H2o2) do strange things and produce muts.

If the humidity is too high ( &/or FAE too low), I have seen fuzzy mycellium begin to grow on the caps

thanks for the responses ...
Some are from shoeboxes and some are from a Martha style FC, so I'm thinking humidity isn't directly causing this.
I'll take a clone sample and preserve it, maybe grow another limited amount just to ensure that they are in-fact genetics that are causing it if no one can absolutely confirm this.

here's how the biggest of them turned out ...

some unusual mush genetics I think, but I think there safe to dry and use?
anyone think this is a bad idea?

They are probably safe to eat.

Thanks Sockadin! I just harvested them and they smelled fresh and felt solid. At first I was WTF , but kind of liking them now, think I'll make a clone and store this one.

Does the white blobs blue when you rub/pinch them? Look like the start of the mutant where it is growing another stipe from the cap.

What was the original variant, looks Thai-ish.

Yeah they bruised blue when harvesting/drying - that gave me confidence that it was myc on the top and not some funky contam...

that one is a typical one thought there are some ones that have bigger or smaller amounts of myc popping out
they are b++ MS to agar ( can I mention the vendor or is that allowed here ? )

Your shrooms are snow capped! :snowing:
I believe that mutants become more common if u fruit before a substrate is fully colonized. Also certain strains have more mutants like KSSS and PE since the strain is already a mutant to begin with.
