substrate mix and yields?
    #26502949 - 02/25/20 11:02 AM (3 years, 11 months ago)

hey everyone  1st poster here. i have been growing cubes for a while now ,but i have a few questions when it comes to substrate.

i know that there is a lot of factors when it comes to yield. genetics, temperature conditions, ect, but how much of an impact can substrate mix's have on yields?

i have been using a coir 80%/vermi 20% mixture, but it seems to be yielding few pin sets with huge empty patches in-between. once harvested the spawn condenses and pulls away from the sides (i assume this is from lack of nutrients left in the sub). would a nutrient deprived substrate cause this lack of pinning?

what substrate mix are you using and what are the results?

sub choice has little to do with yield to a certain degree, its bigger goal is texture and moisture as most of our food comes from the spawn.
that shrinking sub is from the colony digesting the substrate and is a good sign. Genetics and conditions are what will get you wall to wall flushes so a good clone a good sub prep and well dialed conditions.
coir and verm makes a great substrate or even just strait coir but something like pure verm may work ok but doesn't have the best texture to it ect

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn

I'm tired do me a favor
