Re: Cannabinoids No Help for Cancer Pain, Concludes Meta-Analysis [Re: Doc9151]

Cannabis is without a doubt best at treating types of nerve pain.

My 70 year old seriously straight edge boomer aunt has fibromyalgia, she said the cannabinoid routine is actually a small miracle.

Other types of pain though.... Opioids will always be king.

The trade off is one of those is extremely addictive and the other slightly at best.

When it comes down to it, its up to the patient.

If you live in constant unbearable pain, you are probably willing to risk developing an opioid habit.

Any tattooist will tell you.

DO NOT SMOKE UP BEFORE GETTING TATTOOED IT WILL MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT THE PAIN A LOT MORE.

opioids are terrible for fibromyalgia,  neuropathic pain is not helped with opiates unless a person is taking so much that they no longer feel anything. I have battled neuropathy, musculoskeletal and arthritic pain after a couples of strokes that jacked me up and taken ungodly amounts of opioids like morphine, dilaudid, oxycodone,  methadone and so many other non narcotic drugs, so I can relate. pregabalin is the best thing I've had for nerve pain but it really screws with my vision.

visual snow is a common side effect of gabapentinoids

I think I still have it but I've taken the stuff for so many years that I think I just got used to it tbh

for me, my visual field literally starts to turn up side down as if the world was rolling to the left. I would have to blink rapidly just to stay up right. Other than that it's great, would even have a decent buzz if not for the rolling of the world while taking it.

That happened to me the first time I ever took gabapentin, before I was prescribed it, not knowing what it was and taking waaay too many. Luckily I was at the beach and just lied down on the wet sand...but yeah my visual field was on a see saw and at times seemed to be completely perpendicular to reality.

Now if I take too much I get nystagmus that is mostly limited to wobbling/vibrating and affects my depth perception making it hard to focus...and same deal with the blinking, I have to keep blinking rapidly to keep "resetting" my field of vision.

Glad to know that I am not alone on that one,  doctors thought that I was talking shit to get better drugs, said that they had never heard of anyone else having similar symptoms.  Plain ol' gabapentin didn't do it and I was prescribed about 3-4g total doses a day, the pregabalin (lyrica) fuked me up at the lowest dose.

It goes to show how we live in the dark ages as if this is news. We should know these things. Let research be a thing. I can only guess it helps.

Ill be over here claiming I descend from fairy-tale people who were alive before god died and left me and mine in charge. Sounds fair to you?
