Is there life (aside from us) right here in our own solar system? * 3
    #26501289 - 02/24/20 11:07 AM (4 years, 3 months ago)

Europa. One of Jupiter's moons. The surface is made up of a layer of ice some 100 km thick -- but under that, some scientists believe that there lies an ocean.

Could there be an ocean world full of life right beneath the surface?

Once upon a time we thought that the sun was needed for all life, but now we know that's not true as there is all sorts of strange and weird creatures living in the super deep ocean of earth where zero sunlight penetrates. There's like 225,000 known species in the ocean, and biologists estimate another possible 2 million that haven't been discovered or cataloged by science. As we all know the ocean world itself here on earth is a grand and vast world with an incredible spectrum of lifeforms.

If scientists are correct and there is an actual ocean underneath the surface of Europa -- would it really just be a completely empty water world?

I definitely think it's possible there's life on Europa. I think there's speculation that life on earth arose deep in the ocean in the hydrothermal vents. And now there is still a plethora of life clustered extremely deep in the ocean around them, they don't rely on biological processes like photosynthesis that require sunlight, but use chemosynthesis instead to turn chemicals in the water into nutrients. Super cool.

I also think it's possible there was advanced life on mars or elsewhere in the solar system at one time. The solar system is so old, and has changed so much over the course of it's lifetime. Many advanced civilizations could have come and gone.

There WAS life on mars but not in a traditional content. Read spiritual literature, like Pleiadean Agenda

well there is bacteria or something like that on Mars isn't there?

I thought we confirmed micro organisms on another planet

In my opinion, we don't even know where we are. Or what this is. So maybe. Maybe there's a veil and the aliens are living among us already, we just don't see them...yet. :mushroom2:

Would not be surprised if some still survive there somewhere, it's not like we have explored every nook and cranny.

I also wonder if the same could be said for Venus, too. Because some scientists think that Venus at one time was as earth like as...well, earth.

According to some stories from UFOlogy, the astroid belt actually was a planet that was inbetween Mars and Jupiter and this planet had life on it.

Also, according to other stories, Mars was once populated by various alien species but there was a nuclear war of some sort and it destroyed the entire ecosystem on the planet. I think i saw some report from NASA that said they found some radioactive material on the surface of Mars. Could be trace evidence of that ancient destructive war.

So in the distant past, i bet there was more.

I really like the Venus theory. So these patches have been appearing and disappearing on Venus in its upper atmosphere in seasonal patterns. I think that is one of the most likely candidates for life outside of our planet.

I won't be surprised if we discover basic life on multiple bodies, though.

That's super cool.

Couldn't the radioactive material be explained away as naturally occurring though?

I really don't know anything about this stuff at all. I've always thought that there must've been something more on mars. If it used to have an atmosphere and an ocean than it's really just an inevitable.

I think that life exists inside Mars on a subterranean level.  Given the presence ov water and sufficient oxygen, it's certainly feasible that life as we understand it could survive.  Yet i think that humans tend to limit their understanding ov life to the parameters ov Earth.  An intelligent society could have lived upon Mars and destroyed themselves, yes.  But who is to say that such a society could'nt have developed solid state organisms?  Maybe they transferred consciousness into SS avatars?  Maybe the SSOs ov their creation could have even killed off the society that created them as they no longer became necessary.  John Lilly came face to face with this type ov altered reality upon Earth deeeeppp into ketamine and believing he was in the year 3000.  Perhaps he was.  The kurrents are brewed by the timeweaver.  Advanced solid state organisms existing in a subterranean network inside Mars without the need for water , oxygen, and 'obsolete' life forms like humanoids?  A deep and stretching theory perhaps, but is it really too out there to ponder?

Ice and water on Europa?  Maybe there's seals!!!  Due to the lessened gravity, i wonder if they can bounce around and flop really high lol.

How difficult would it be for them to send a mission to Europa? One that was capable of melting it's way through 100 km of ice and seeing what's under there?

Well, according to some of the data collected from the Mars Rover, the concentration of radioactive material on the planet and atmosphere is "too high" to be naturally occuring. Radioactive material on Earth is rare to find and thus the concentrations seen on Mars are unusually-high to be natural.

Heres a couple quotes from a physicist named Dr. John Brandenburg:

Quote:

"The Martian surface is covered with a thin layer of radioactive substances including uranium, thorium and radioactive potassium -- and this pattern radiates from a hot spot [on Mars],” Brandenburg told FoxNews.com.

“A nuclear explosion could have sent debris all around the planet," he said. "Maps of gamma rays on Mars show a big red spot that seems like a radiating debris pattern ... on the opposite side of the planet there is another red spot."

Brandenburg said gamma ray spectrometry taken over the past few years shows spiking radiation from Xenon 129 -- an increase also seen on Earth after a nuclear reaction or a nuclear meltdown, including the one at Chernobyl in 1986 and the disaster in Japan earlier this month.

https://www.foxnews.com/science/was-there-a-natural-nuclear-blast-on-mars

So the "smoking gun" here is the "abundance" of Xenon 129 found in the Martian soil, which is an radioactive element found after a nuclear plant has a meltdown.

Its also interesting that it could be a reason why Mars is Red could be because of the emission of raditation from these possible ancient nuclear explosions :strokebeard:

Just because there is ice and water doesn't mean there is life.

Life is complex.  Life needs thousands if not millions of different molecules interacting with each other in a near perfect balance.

Life is extremely rare and precious.  I doubt our solar system got lucky twice.

Life on Venus would be hard to believe for me. I mean it's basically hell... I mean yeah we've found life in some pretty extreme places, but I don't think any of them come close to Venus. It's like 900 degrees and has clouds and rain of sulfuric acid.

:whathesaid: this is a good thought to ponder.
i also do believe that symbiosis must always be present to sustain biological life like Us.

At the same time, i also do believed in the existence of other life forms that aren't as biologicaly bound as we Are.

Speaking of mars, ive imagine that other planets are the remnants of US in the near future (Reactors under the solar storms), & We are in the middle. And some others are OUR distant past if we think of Venus and the enzymatic soup thru aenonic involution.
