It looks fine, let it grow. Try to take smaller transfers, the size of a gran of rice is what they say.

The plate is a small one, might look deceiving. My agar was poured too thick though so it looks big but its a 60mm plate, check compared to my thumb. Thanks for the tip and observation though!

Did you cut out of the middle? You want to take from furthest edge from the middle, aka the fastest growth.

It looks like you have mold on both of them plates. Taking a transfer from the middle isn’t going to help you get away from any contamination that’s present.

I  cut out of the middle because that is where a drop of spore solution was placed and where germination occured. I read its good to transfer as soon as you see clean germination growth so as to not run into any contams. I let the rest of the plate grow out to have a reference point from the initial growth plate. When I took the transfer, the mycelium was only as large as the transfer

You want to let it grow out a bit more so you can see clear good or bad growth so you know what part to transfer from. Putting the whole area of the spore germination on to another plate is no different to leaving on the original plate

On that last picture of the original plate that your holding up to the light. See how on the lower half of the plate where the growth is thin, and unorganised growing in all directions it doesn’t look like the more organised growth of cube myc.
You can see the same unorganised growth on the transfer plate too. There may be some cube myc there but it will probably be hard to get a clean transfer away from it.

I see what you are seeing yes. In the same picture, you can see the second germination spot, a little under the area I took the transfer from. This is the reason why I transferred it early. I didn't want two germination colonies to join since the original one looked good. I have seen clean plates where around the white, organised mycelium, there appears to be a layer of grey (light) growth that looks like this. Maybe I'm wrong. Cheers

I would definitely agree with the others speculating mold. The way the strands are growing every which way I would have to say yes it looks like mold. Cube myc grows straight out from the center like rays of the sun not changing direction back and forth.
