How long can you leave fully colenizied jars for?

As the title says, could I leave them in a cool room or put them in the fridge? I wont be using the jars for 2 weeks after colenizing. As I'll be away. I did read rr has successfully left 100% colenizied jars for a month without issue

Fridge is fine...it'll slow down the myc growth and give you some extra time before spawning.

I was recently in the same situation. I did g2g transfer on 1/29 (almost 3-1/2 weeks ago). My jars are fully colonized and have been for quite a while and they are fine. I was told to put in the fridge or a cold place if possible but I didn't. I will be doing 32 qt mono tubs with the spawn and transferring some as g2g to get some more jars started tomorrow. Good luck.

Have you stored cubensis myc in the fridge without issue? I've read that 40f can be too cold for them and it may not recover. I'll try keep the fridge at 45 to 50f

What temps are you keeping them at when fully colenizied? Thanks for you input, I'd like to hear how you get on.

It was a little slow coming out, but after a few days it took off again. I have a mini fridge and I just keep it on the higher temp settings which is probably around 45-50F (never measured the temp). A couple of weeks you might be able to get away with just keeping them in a cold room.

I'll have to check what the highest temp of the dedicated fridge is. I'm hoping it will be around those temps. Does your fridge have 1 to 5 settings ?
Yeah 2 weeks is all I'll be leaving them for, it's cold where I am so I might be able to get away with keeping them in the room with no heating.

Slants and plates can be stored in the fridge for quite a long time, jars are really no different, a few weeks won't be an issue at all. I once found a jar in the cupboard above our fridge mid summer, the mycelium had shrunk quite a bit, it was god knows how old lol but it still ripped through coco and made a fine shoebox flush Mycelium is insanely strong, it can for sure take extremes well.

I live in a refrigerator drafty house that is frequently 48-58°F during the winter. Growth rate doesn't stop at those temps, but IME it is reduced to about 25-30% compared to the mid 70s.

That's interesting because RR claims cubensis or other tropical species shouldn't be kept below 50F as it can damage the culture. So therefore he recommends keeping culture at 50F for long term storage
