Old Smelly LC, Yay or Nay? (petri pics)

Hola again mi hongos amigos!
I hope you are all enjoying your afternoons.
I’ve reached a dilemma which I can’t seem to find much information about,
The situation is; I have a few older LC’s and jars ready to be inoculated. Originally I was going to mix some new lc’s but rather than wait, but I was thinking my old ones might still be good.
Now they smell heavily of alcohol, that’s whats throwing me off, I’ve read it could be due to the use of light malt extract but nothing definitive, lots of people say to throw them out.
About a week ago I used one of the lc’s that smelled to inoculate some jars and also squirted a bit into some agar to see if I could identify any foreign contaminants,
as of right now the jars are visibly fine! and the lc test that I shot into agar seems pretty clean as a well (a little bumpy, cause I shot more than I wanted to by accident) but I don’t see any signs of yeast or bacteria so far.
pictures:

My question is, is it possible a clean lc can take on a alcohol type smell from just sitting around?
The answer to this will determine if I need to wait a few more days for a new lc to inoculate, or if I can do it this afternoon.
Any advice mush appreciated.

How exactly are you smelling the LC? If it's putting off a powerful enough That you notice it just from shooting or pouring a little in a jar, it's probably fucked. I can't tell enough from the pics but i wouldn't trust it. How about some pics of the supposedly fine grain jars?

my bad for not including that info,
basically almost All my old lc jars so far have developed a slight off smell after sitting for a while, most I’ve noticed when tossing the remainder out, but this one I’m able to tell from the filter hole because I am expecting it
here are some pictures of the best 3 jars about 2-3 days in

Off eggy smell is bacteria. That’s not good but you may still get fruit. Personally anything that smells off I chunk.
The growth looks good in the jars you just posted. What was the lc made of? Grainwater? Sometimes those smell of without a contam. Grain water has an earthy smell. But rancid egg smell is bacteria.

Yep. Grain looks fine but it's too early to say.
