Pretty little orange fella
    #26494797 - 02/20/20 09:45 AM (3 years, 11 months ago)

Found this lil fella about 20 feet from the base of a great oak (still under canopy and leaf fall range) I’d say it was about 75 degrees out and pretty humid seeing as how this was found in central Florida at about 10:00am yesterday. It appeared to be growing out of the dirt that the rest of the grass was growing from. No apparent dung or branches were near it. This is my first post as I’m just getting into this kind of thing. Any help identifying is appreciated.

Taste it. If it has a sharp, burning taste, they're slightly toxic. If not, they're one of the better edibles. Beware, though, Russula's are the only ones you can taste to determine edibility. Make sure it is a russula before tasting 😁 Exact id is often difficult and the good ones can look like the bad ones.
