What are the most important items for you grow 1

So I wanted to get some new items to add to the team. Curious what items you guys use, that you could just NOT go without. Im thinking some will say a flow hood. I have a pretty expensive inline fan or whatever for growing weed, and saw teks for making flow hoods with them. What are your most crucial items?

Dehydrator. Vacuum sealer. Water bath. In that order, most likely.

Dried fruits, it's cheaper long term than buying mason jars, especially since I spread the love and let my friends keep the jars I give them.
I'm not sure how one would use a vacuum sealer to suck out contams.

thats interesting..i used to work as a temp many many years ago for a aerospace company where we would layer these peices of fiber glass to for shapes of parts. We would vacuum seal it and they would go into a huge ass autoclave. Someone told me that the vacuum pulled out air from the parts - just curious if maybe a vacuum seal could work like a flow hood..pulling contams, just a thought

My horse. His name is KFC and I bought him so I could have an endless supply of high quality hpoo. He is on a strict gluten-free diet (i feed him old spent substrate and then he recycles it into new substrate) making everything a self sufficient cycle that is both eco friendly AND environmentally friendly.

Well, a laminar flow hood gives you a steady stream of filtered air. Adding a vacuum to that environment would make the stream of air chaotic and not laminar, which would increase the probability of contamination.

That's not how a flow hood works. You're not going to be able to 'pull' contams off anything with anything.
Flow hoods use HEPA filters to create a current of clean air for you to work in front of. Most folks don't have them, and use an SAB (Still Air Box) instead.
Most important item for you to grow: spores.

Do you seal before all the air is vacuumed out or you let the vacuum sealer run its course? I have a food saver, the expensive ass one with the bag maker and suction hose for vacuum sealing zipper bags Mason jars and marinating tubs. I've used it for prints buds and food quite a bit(especially for marinating some carme asada). Had it for 3 years now. Always been scared to use it on my mushrooms though. I know mine will crush the shit outta them. I've used it to seal them but always hot seal now button before it gets a chance to vacuum out all the air.

You are feeding your horse spent horse manure so that he can shit out more manure for you to grow on? Poor horse what a shitty life he must have. Bet the fucker is always high though.

Yeah I usually hit seal early, if the fruits are particularly big I'll separate the caps and stems and lay them both flat, that helps with the crush factor.
But, even then, I don't mid if they get crushed, they're going into tea anyway.

I'd say the best and most important tool is a PC. You almost can't even begin anything without one, short of steaming jars and doing PF Tek. Speaking of it jars are obviously vital. Also there's all the obvious jackassey shit like spores>agar>grains>etc. Flowhood is fuckin great to have but it's definitely not a vital tool.

That's pretty precise shit then of the air has to be sucked completely out in the molding process. I work with fiberglass quite a bit and nothing more than a mold with a releasing agent is needed most of the time. Shit most of the time I don't use a mold I will build a form and reinforce with chop mat and resin. Sometimes weave mat but it kinda sucks. Back on topic. The main difference here is you are voiding air from a container as when vacuum molding as opposed to sucking air into a open space which will just suck contams into the work space. Neither allows clean air though. One would use lack of air the other would cause a air current.

Fair enough I just hate crushing them. Same with buds. I hate when a nice fluffy bud is compressed down in the sealer. I also have severe OCD though so this probably explains a lot.
