Grain bags ready for the shoebox?

Hi I inoculated these with PE on January 20th it’s almost a month in and these grain bags look white but is is safe to contamination if I spawn now? Should I wait longer? Thanks for any advice. I’ll be spawning to coir verm in a shoebox.

Only spawn if it's fully colonized. Pics are blurry, but they don't look so good to me. Mycelium looks weak af. Looks like you just shook it or something. Did you?

no I shook them twice in the beginning, It was hard to get a good pic because of the condensation on the bags. everything looks white though. The bottom of the bags looks like the myc is stronger. there is also no pooling in the bottom so I don't think its contam. I also made way too much coir and wanted to spawn them so it didn't go to waste. I've just kept the bags on a counter top, but I did handle them, not shake, them most days to check on them. Did this disrupt some kinda gas exchange?

Sorry my friend, but that doesn't look good. Looks like mold to me. What grain is that? because it doesn't dark enough to have run through a sterilizing process.

What's the variety??. Your first pics were bad, should never look that yellow lol. The mycelium doesn't look strong, a month is a long time. I usually do a bag In 2-3 weeks. But i incubate. Break it open and smell it. Should smell nice like mushrooms. If it doesn't. Toss it.

Lol yeah those first pics were misleading, looked like straight contamination.
I’ve never used those grains and although they don’t look great I bet they work. I’ve had plenty of good yields off bacterial spawn.
I just went back and saw it’s PE, hopefully it works out they take a long time to fruit. You have peat casing for them?

Lol I’m on full experimental mode now I used coir and verm mix into a shoebox. I topped them with the same mix. Let’s just see what happens my friends. I have some Burma in brf cakes that I spawned the same way. Yeehaw!

The coir verm bulk is good but PE will blob out almost for sure without a casing.
My first PE run I made three shoeboxes and left one uncased this is what it did. I tried to case it way late once I saw what was happening but it didn’t help lol.

Both I cased looked like this and put out around 35g dry each first flush.

definitely worth getting some 5050 mix while they colonize!

Hey I spawned these yesterday. No misting because my sub was pretty moist but I squeezed it for some imaginary optimal fc haha. I just want to make sure these don’t need some fae.

You can put in fruiting conditions now or wait until fully colonized, there are different camps on that. Did you follow a certain tek for the tub?

It's kinda stalled... My brf cakes spawned into coir verm with casing look like this still spawned feb 18th. The PE Rye grains I cased with just verm and that also seems stalled. I'll take some pics of them later. The tubs all smell healthy- room temp is 73 they are out in ambient light with a 6500 on during the day, I flipped the lids when I spawned misted a couple of times because I accidentally put dry verm on the PE boxes. I flipped the lids back today and latched them the boxes still feel weighty, the coir seems moist, so maybe to much fae?

There’s no such thing as too much air.
That’s normal for PE, mine just took about three weeks to pin.

I latch lids on my shoe boxes. Just wanted to mention ime verm only makes a poor casing, if I was you I'd throw a handful of coir on there and veeeeery gently mix in with the verm, or just plain level it out.

Straight verm casing can work just fine. I would leave it be for a couple of weeks.
