Mycelium translucent and very fine? (edited)

Hi all,
Pretty much a noob to all this. I have successfully grown 3 cakes so far. The first one i grew the fruits were very potent. Stupidly i did not label it but i know it was either B+ or Golden Teacher.
Anyway i took a spore sample and managed to grow it out on agar. This is it 2 plates on.

If you zoom in you can see the growth is nearly fully colonised.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal or unusual in any way? The mycelium is translucent, almost transparent. It is also very fine. I have other mycelium growing on grain and in cakes and although they are different strains the growth is thicker and white.

If i do manage to do a grain transfer and fruit this, will the potency be the same? The first fruit i ate from the first batch had such a strong taste and the inside of the fruits seamed saturated with psilocybin and when i ripped a stem open it was not blue but sorta deep purple in color from what i can remember. The first shroom i ate was about 2-3g and i got some crazy visuals from it. After fruiting more cakes i was shocked at how weak they tasted compared to that first batch. I was also shocked at how i needed 4-5 times the amount to hit the same height. This was not a case of me getting used to them cos it was 5 weeks later when i tested them.
Any thoughts or tips? Thanks in advance.

I suspect those wedges may have contaminated. Possibly bacterial. Not easy to tell from just photos of agar. On the other hand multispore can be quite fluffy. Maybe do a few more transfers. And if you don't see nice, more rhizomorphic mycelium you should probably toss this lineage. If this is your only cultured lineage I recommend you start a new one from spores in any case. It is good to have options. Use smaller wedges, at most half the size in the photos. And keep backups of known good mycelium in slants. That way you can go back if you lose a plate or culture to contamination.

What recipe are you using for agar? It could be that your most recent recipe could be excessively nutritious causing the faint growth..

When you grow from spores you are rolling the dice biologically. Cloning is the way to try to keep a particular strain going.
Poor photos, but that plate looks like bacteria, the jar and cake look fine.
And opaque and transparent are opposites.

Try to take way smaller transfers also.
Next time you get a strong mushroom clone it instead of going for spores.
Best part about agar for me so far is clones.

Thanks for all your replies.
I think i am going to take some small cuts and with them do some agar transfers and one grain transfer to see what happens.
@LadysKnight. Yes i think the word i was looking for was translucent. Sorry about the confusion.I have edited it to suit.
@A.k.a I think cloning is the next step. I have some scalpals now. Once i get confident enough i will take the best looking most potent shrooms and clone them. Not sure if potency goes from clone to clone. Hope it does.
@Citizen The agar i am using i bought vac packed from a reputable vendor. As it is all new to me i am using agar and grain that has been done for me. The next step for me is to start making the grain and cakes myself now i have a pressure cooker.
Sorry for the crappy pics. The agar does look like it has good mycelium to me. It is very fine rhizomorphic growth when i look close up. Not fluffy. I wonder if the lack of oxygen or moisture is making it this way. I have used electrical tape to seal the plate. Maybe i should use surgical tape next time?

I agree 100%.
Medical tape would be a good choice since its semi-permable for air exchange.

What I meant to ask wasn't where you got the agar, but what recipe you used to mix the agar. In other words, what ratios of water, agar, and nutrients did you use?
Too much nutrients in your agar can create whispy, transparent growth.

I am not sure to tell you the truth. This is it.
