Eager Newbie
    #2649016 - 05/07/04 01:55 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

I'v been reading from this site for a while now and have found the community to be mostly friendly and very helpful. I feel like an asshole for buying a kit but i did, being unsure of my abilities and not wanting to fuck up and all. Hopefully however, eventually i'll be a master of the mushrooms like so many of YOU. I think I'm falling in love with the process as much as I have with the end experience. But enough of my ranting... i have a question or two. I've skimmed through some techs from this site over and I'v skimmed through The Mushroom Cultivator by Stamets and Chilton. I've managed to innoculate 12 jars with B+, only 2 got contaminated with big green and brown ugliness. I've birthed them and they are now in a big tub sitting on wet pertile getting all fuzzy, 2 of the jars are still incubating because they weren't ready yet. I was just wondering if i put those two jars outside somewhere when they are ready to start something outside, how much yeild would i have with the 8 cakes? Also i'd like to learn how to make my own syringes from the mushrooms that will shortly be grown.. can anyone recommend a good tech for that? THANKS & sry for the long post.

I think having the cakes on some sort of verm bed separated from the pearlite is preferable.

Your going to grow cakes outside?  :what:

From the 8 cakes youll ger anywhere from 0-40 gms dry ....maybe

Click the FAQ above to find good syringe Teks.

It can be done. But get some manure or straw to go with them or you may only see a few mushrooms (don't forget to put them in the ground, and some sort of humidity tent helps as well). There is much more reading you should do, plenty of info here to give you ideas. Search for outdoor. There is also a syringe tek in the FAQ.
