Only one way to tell. Start soaking! Never know when you find something new!

I buy race horse feed at farm and fleet. 50 pounds of raw oats for $16. Works fantastic, follow Bod's oak Tek.

Substrate would be like coir or manure.
I love wbs I’ve used a couple brands and recently wasn’t paying attention and bought “southwest blend” which is super corn heavy, but no problems so far. I’ve never noticed anything with corn really.

Short answer is no one uses cracked corn as spawn, at least none of the growers that have consistent success and plenty of it, and that's for a reason of course they stick by Rye, Wheat, Oats, WBS for making spawn.

Cracked corn in wbs blends makes a sticky fucking mess.
Whole cereal grains is what you want. Not hulled, rolled or cracked. WHOLE

Go to a farm supply store and buy whole oats as everyone has suggested. Check the label to be sure there are no added ingredients like oils, fungicides, etc. The ingredients list should simply say whole oats.

You won't find them without some kind of added oil. It boils out and leaves a nice ring around your pot after you dump everything.
