Do you eat the end slices of a loaf of bread?

Personally, I throw them out. Not that I hate them but I just prefer a normal slice.
How about you guys?

Fuck yeah. Make a peanut butter and jelly, but toast them first, put the crust side inwards. Delicious as fuck! The PB gets all melty and the extra crust makes the entire thing crunch. Chunky PB is the way to go on this one.

I save them for the very last and only use them if I haven't already bought more bread, otherwise they get thrown in the trash.

I try to...but usually my gf beats me to it. That is to say, the first end gets eaten (generally by her), the other sometimes gets discarded if the remainder of the bread turns stale. We generally eat the bread I bake at home and I bake loaves that are a little more than enough for one meal, so we usually end up with the remainder 1/4 of a small loaf which either gets eaten the other day or thrown out.
The crunchy ends are really the best parts of these loaves.

What we do is to put all the unwanted pieces of bread into the blender and turn them into breadcrumbs which can be stored in a container in the freezer. When time comes they are easily added to thicken lentil burger patties or added with a little olive oil onto the tops of lasagne in the oven.

Some congealed advice from the expedient kitchen:
End slices, toasted up, are awesome for dipping in your soup.

White dwarfs will assimilate dark matter and continue with a nominal energy output. As this era continues, the authors hypothesize that protons will begin to decay (violating the conservation of baryon number given by the Standard Model). If proton decay takes place, the sole survivors will be black holes. If so, life becomes nearly impossible as planets decay.

With quality bread the end pieces are really the best. Something about their extra thickness and crispy outer layer is hard to beat for sandwiches. Or just buttered up with soup or chili.
Daves Killer Bread is the best, nothing will convince me otherwise.

The honey n oats and blues are my favorites. But they are all amazing. Even the white bread is bomb.

My favourite part of a loaf is the top crust. I cut a full loaf in half and let it dry for an hour or two. Slice the top crust off of both halves and store These are lovely the next day teamed with cold cheese / mushroom + omlette with soy sauce, vinegar, mustard pickle and whatever to taste...

What I want to know is how many of you freeze your bread loafs.
Fresh bread is the best obviously but fresh bread can start molding surprisingly fast sometimes. I like to freeze loafs after a few days before forgetting. It's nice having one fresh and one frozen for later.

https://www.stack.com/a/is-daves-killer-bread-actually-healthy
Each variety contains at least 10 grams of whole grains per serving (which is defined as one slice of bread), while four of them (21 Whole Grains and Seeds, 100% Whole Wheat, Honey Oats & Flax, Powerseed) contain 19 or more grams.
Now things get a bit more hazy.
You do not need added sugar to make bread. A gram of added sugar, as you'd find in a slice of Dave's Killer Bread Powerseed, is pretty much insignificant in the grand scheme of your overall diet. But when you start talking about five grams of added sugar, as you'll find in a slice of Good Seed, you can run into an issue.
Say you eat a slice of Good Seed for breakfast, and then you make a sandwich using two slices for lunch. All of the sudden, your "healthy" bread has contributed 15 grams of added sugar to your diet.
Added sugars are defined as "any sugars or caloric sweeteners that are added to foods or beverages during processing or preparation." Unlike naturally occurring sugars, which are a product of mother nature and are found in everything from fruit to legumes, added sugars are added to foods by humans.
"Added sugars contribute additional calories and zero nutrients to food," the American Heart Association states. "Over the past 30 years, Americans have steadily consumed more and more added sugars in their diets, which has contributed to the obesity epidemic."
Diets high in added sugar have been linked to obesity, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, tooth decay and even cancer. The American Heart Association recommends women consume no more than 25 grams of added sugar per day while men should consume no more than 36 grams a day.
The fact that the added sugar in Dave's Killer Bread varieties like Good Seed or 21 Whole Grains and Seeds is coming along with a bunch of good ingredients and a significant amount of fiber certainly softens its negative impact, but it shouldn't be ignored. I personally eat a lot of the stuff, but I tend to stick with the Powerseed variety largely because it contains just one gram of sugar.
Hmmmm, not too healthy, but OK I guess.

I just ate the end slices of a loaf of bread.
And it was a pleasant experience, imo.

You can't just focus on the bits of sugar some have, they also are some of the most nutrient rich bread I've found by far:

I usually get ones fairly low in sugar, but try and get the ones with the most vitamins. Most of the sugar in my diet comes from treats anyways, just finished a big batch of cream frosting that was addictingly good

Daves Killer Bread is the best, nothing will convince me otherwise.

The honey n oats and blues are my favorites. But they are all amazing. Even the white bread is bomb.
Pff quality bread doesnt come packed and sliced like that
They are a semi local company, and they hire people with criminal backgrounds:

No wonder they call it Dave's "Killer" bread
I love multigrain loaf ends. Extra texture, extra goodies

Can't stand the ends. But most of our bread goes stale/moldy before we finish all the final middle bits so it's not really an issue.
