4 day work week 1

Recently switched to 4 ten hr days at my job and I have to say, it's straight up tits.
I feel so much more balanced where before I felt like I never had time to do personal things. Just having a free day to go to places while they are open is huge.
Anyone else got this going?

my wife gets half day fridays. even though she hates her job she admits the half day fridays make it really hard to even try and look elsewhere.
i know some people who have done the 4-10s, and even 3-12 schedule and they all love it too. Personally, If i am working 8 I might as well work 12, it makes no difference at that point, so yeah maximizing your time off is an amazing thing to have control over. Work it man!

The nice thing is our flex days can be whenever we decide, assuming there's no conflict with meetings or anything.
So I could decide next week my flex day would be Wednesday instead of Friday. This has already saved me PTO that I would have used for appointments and things.

Oh yeah. I work three 12 hour days. Its basically perfect. I have so much time off on the weekends. I don't get as much work hours but the trade off for all the freetime is really nice.
But I am on nightshift which is kinda rough, but the trade off is still pretty freakin sweet.

6-11's is sub-optimal. I like it better than 12's though, and I try to duck out early on Saturdays for like an 8 hour day.

Man, I wish I could find a job that does four 10's. I make pretty good money at my current job but the scheduling fucking blows.

There is an injection place only open mon-thur, days only, weekends off, some or all holidays off, and maybe only 8-10 hour shifts. I am seriously thinking about it. The job here is really nice because I get almost every day(s) off I ask for no matter what, days only, 6 paid holidays, and never work weekends or even asked to. This is hard to find as a nurse (in the USA anyway)

My favorite schedule was working 6:30-2:30 5 days a week. I find that when I have too many whole days off I end up being lazier and less productive with my time, but if I'm out relatively early every day I get in a better routine and spend my free time better. If I was single and looking to travel more I'd probably be all over a 3-4 day week though

Just reading the headline post knew that had to be it. Sleep/work. Look on the Brightside of life. You have three days off from slave labor.
Only way I would do that shit is for a car. I have monthly income and getting through the Winter but the only chance in hell I would do that is for that.
You got it. Took me a long time to but you are realizing it, it is like a hypnotic drone type way of existence.
Hope you find something better and maybe something you actually enjoy in life. They say people that enjoy their jobs are wonderful. Those that hate their jobs are miserable. Sounds like you are of the latter portion with respect.
Just don't waste your life on it, something you know you don't want to do. All power to you in your life choices. Unasked for advice yet I have done some of the most soul sucking work in the world because by divorced parents are assholes and wasn't taught wisdom that mattered. Because they are selfish assholes and really led me to learn from esoterics at times.
Point being, if you are miserable, which it sounds like you are, get out of it. That is the biggest fallicy of life is that you have to, a worker bee to serve masters. Nope. I am a sensitive and I sense with you is, give it time, innately answers will come to get out of your hell. If you choose and you know that.

Probably a bit of projection on your part there.
I like what I do and really enjoy my job. That said I would rather have more free time lumped together than spread out over a week.
I get a little irritated when people assume because I have a full time job I'm a miserable slave. Not everyone is unhappy working for a living.

A assumption from my own life. I apologize. Enjoy your work and sleep and eating and hopefully getting in some fucking. Lol. Seriously, to each their own. Sorry for the assumption. Your post led me to believe you were a disgruntled worker.
And as one who has had 16 jobs in a year at one time, no shit, didn't realize it till I filed my taxes in the states, if you enjoy the hours do it.
Always makes me laugh as I filed at the IRS agency and the 40. When I put all the paperwork up the worker smiled and said, looks like you have been a busy boy. Female but don't think it was a come on. Still made me laugh and sticks with me.
Keep your head up mate!
