San Pedro Blend vs Cutting up - First Time

I have 12 inches of a thick non PC LER. I’ve read many teks. Some involve just cutting up the cactus and using the crock pot. One used a rice cooker with cut up cactus and the rest involved blending and boiling. I am really leaning towards cutting up and using the crockpot, but this is my first time and I want to do it right. Does blending make that much of a difference?
Also, has anyone used an instant pot?

First time?
Eat it raw.
Despine and skin carefully, leave as much dark green stuff as possible. Get a plate or something you can have under it to catch the juices and scraps in case you take too much off on a skin. Cut the ribs off the core and toss the core, eat the ribs. Bon appeit and Bon Voyage!
Don’t worry if you miss a bit of skin, it’ won’t be in your stomach that long. Don’t worry if you lose a drop or two, it’s going to be hard enough to chow down on what you have over the course of about an hour or so.
It’s quick to prepare, simple to do and effective.

I make tea too! Don’t pretend I am a heathen. But, 100% works and noob friendly. don’t have to worry about the myriad things everyone worries about with extraction recipes. You will probably toss it up no matter what you do. Or you won’t.
Because you are eating it/slurping up cactus juice, it forces you to take your time, after it’s all in, you will feel weird. No doubt. If it took you an hour to down the last drop, then sit still, hold your belly and groan a bit for about another hour, try not to move much..... then, the nausea will fade and the dramatic urge to purge will prevail.
Sickly stumbling into the bathroom wondering if you were sold bad cactus....
Leaning over the toilet and vomiting out beautiful rainbows of juicy chunks of cactus, as hard as it was to get down, it comes up so easy!
Then as I heard it described recently, a light and breezy feeling.
No more nausea, no more bloated feelings and the fuckin carpet is now swirling around and were the walls always this color?
Happy vibes whichever way you go, it’s been awhile since I had cactus, very enjoyable.

Mushrooms are downright scrumptious compared to cactus.
I have not had ayahuasca as of yet.
But, I have had MG seeds.
I am now able to eat just about anything and think it’s not too bad, anything except MG seeds. Makes me gag even just thinking about. *shivers*
But, yes, potent cactus tea is a challenging flavor.

Hey, all, I have a question about this topic. I’ve always wanted to try the peyote buttons, and the flesh of the San Pedro cactus, and that’s probably the one area of psychedelic substance I’ve never done in my life. Now the sensitive part of the question, I live in New York City, and I’m nowhere near a desert, and have absolutely no idea whatsoever how to procure any. I’m going to check these forums for growing info and such, but without violating any federal or state laws can someone give me suggestions as to how to find anything of the San Pedro variety? Like whole cactuses? Again keeping things completely legal so as not to violate any site rules or actual laws.

So I ended up blending with water, added some lemon juice and put it in the crock pot for 7 hours. Does this sound alright?

Sounds excellent, what does it look like? Pics help, you could go even longer if you wanted, or, strain out what you have, reduce a bit it a pot on the stove, then save. Simultaneously, but the chucks and gook back into the crock for another few hours and a touch more lemon juice.
Then do the same thing as with the first pull, combine brews and enjoy!
Is it at a simmer? Small bubbles once and awhile? We aren’t just warming it up, we are extracting the yummy goodness.

Just out of curiosity, related to this thread tangentially at least, When consuming cuttings, say purchased from sponsor sites, is it absurdly expensive? Bear in mind I know very little about psychedelic cacti and shrooms. I think I read in the other cactus thread that eating purchased clippings, rather than planting them and waiting, cost like $35.00 USD per trip?

No pics. I’ll remember next time! It was a perfect 4” thick LER from a reputable vendor.

I have never done this before so I can’t speak to this! It’s not something I can imagine doing more than 1 or 2 times a year. I would feel better if I grew it myself though.

Pics of the soup and I could tell you if it’s done. I am dumb when it comes to timing and organizing.
Do a second run on the pulp and your brew will be an anecdotal %10-15 pct stronger.
Your going to love it. Cactus is so amazing i don’t want to use words, that way you get to have your own untainted experience with it.
Keep us posted.
