Yes they will flower for you first year. I wouldn't use any fertilizer and move them outside as much as possible. I usually do mine in ground. I get more flowers in ground than potted. Potted just vines out ime.

It depends on what seeds you have. Ololiuqui is Turbina corymbosa, and requires up to 50 seeds for a threshold dose and up to 100-400 seeds for a definite experience, whereas the other LSA and other alkaloid containing seeds from Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argeria nervosa) are more potent, requiring 1-3 seeds for a regular trip or no more than ten for the full experience.
It has a history of use among the Mayans, who used psilocybin mushrooms. This is to, somewhat, defend the reputation LSD gets as being artificial or synthetic, when it's really only semi-synthetic. Most get into mushrooms first while disliking LSD because mushrooms feel more natural. Most people are only biased toward mushrooms because they're new to Terence McKenna and haven't really heard him talk about much else yet. I think it's just a process of maturing, nonetheless, it's a delicate contrast open to appreciation.
I tried ololiuqui once, but didn't feel anything. It could have been cross tolerance with LSD and psilocybin, though, plus I only ate 50 or so seeds, which is about the equivalent of a fraction of one 100 microgram tab. Wanting to see how similar it is to LSD isn't that good enough of a reason to seek it out, if you ask me.

Fresh morning glory seeds is where its at thou. It can be quite psychedelic. I read a tek online talking about adding nutrients to your soil to boast alkoloids in the seeds, similar to how u give nutrients to cannabis plants.
Wish i knew where that document was....

I've never eaten anything other than fresh. Bagged seeds scare me but I've grown more picky over the years of dwelling on the shroomery.

Since you have such a intrest in datura and lsa. I personally would experiment to see what works best for you cultivation wise. Maybe have three or four potted. Two inside, two outside. For the outside transplants, wait for them to get established each in thier own pots(first true leaves and a little vine growth). Find a nice sunny spot and while still potted and get them used to full sun gently then go for the transplant in ground. I always remove just a tad of the native soil and add some garden soil in for the transplant hole. Baby it the first week and it should be good.
These are tuff plants and grow like weeds in some areas. You may just throw them out there and they go but one thing I've noticed once I've gotten mine established is all they need is water daily if its hot every other day if it's not. The leaves will tell you. They thrive off neglect and crappy soil. Do not fertilize or you will have nothing but vines and a few flowers at the very end when the plants goes into panic seed mode because it feels the season ending.
Hope I've explained it well I'm a little under the influence.

I got a ton of different varieties of morning glories to start! Check out my indoor Convolvulus tricolor "Dwarf Morning Glory" This is the most non looking Morning glory that I've ever grown! It's finally putting out blooms, which should be a treat if they'll open!

I'm sorry to hear that brother I always wait and start my morning glories when it gets warm and stays warm just for that very reason. Mine actually come back every year, so I really don't need to even sow any. But, I acquired some new varieties to try out, so I'll see if I can get these to do the same thing as the others.

Only after moving it outside did the blooms start to appear

Yeah, and it's not your typical Morning Glory either.
It doesn't grow in a vine fashion, it sprawls out along the ground.
I have about eight of these going right now in pots.
It' my new favourite!

Do they hold up alright with frost after they're established?

Morning Glories detest frost, but some varieties can handle it better than others.
I've noticed that the native wild one here, are more tolerant to cold than the more tropical garden varieties.

Yeah those flying saucers look amazing. I've got about 10 plants of few different varieties including tricolor and purpurea growing pretty well this year. Though I lost a whole tray of seedlings a month ago that I forgot to bring in on a cold night, which I'm still livid about.
Anyway does anyone know, if I cut off the tips of young plants does this help with bushier growth? I mean it doesn't matter too much anyway because they end up growing mostly over trellis but I'd like to see stronger less straggly growth at the bottom of the plants.

Pinch Morning Glories back while they are young.
Pinch them when they have two sets of true leaves, removing the top one-half to three-quarters of an inch.
Pinch out the tips of lateral stems when they develop.
Pinching out the growth tips helps the vine develop a dense, bushy growth habit

I sure do, it's called Convolvulus tricolor, dwarf morning glory 'Blue Ensign'
I discovered these in bargain bin,and had to buy them!
They grow well in pots, and aren't really vines like your typical morning glory.

i wish the original light blue heirloom heavenly blue morning glory that was originally selected from mexican stock in the 1920’s was still available. all the commercial heavenly blue sold now are the “improved heavenly blue” that was released in the 1980’s.

I know right!
I just sowed some of those, and a lot of other varieties.
They all just pooped!
It's going to be a chore to separate them and plant them all in the ground!

Since I first planted my purpurea a few years back, they are the only ones that come back every year without me having to re-sow them.
They are all over my yard and garden right now!

I know i keep posting these, but i just love em so much!
Had I not started them indoors under LED, a couple months back, I'd be waiting until mid summer for blooms.
As you can see, the foliage looks nothing like a typical morning glory vine or leaf.

And these got so leggy indoors, that I cut them back, hindering their blooms for a bit.

And here are some various strains that I started up a few days ago.

Brilliant thanks I will try that! I can't wait to see them bloom again this year. MG flowers are amazing, slightly hypnotic. I find just looking at them is a bit trippy. Magical plants. Also, great pictures of the convulvulus tricolor Allium!

My blues always seem to flower way later than all my other varieties.
Last season, I didn't think they would ever bloom, and then one late summer morning I went out, and Bam, there they were!
I would say they are one of my top Glories to grow, but the wait is always too long.

Man, I have run out of room!
All my glories are still clumped up together in those planters, and they need to be separated, and planted in the ground badly!
I used to grow them along my fence, but every square inch of my fence is covered with snow peas, and various tree that I planted as a privacy fence.
I don't know what to do, and it's killing me!
Anyway, yeah dude, Morning Glories just weren't meant to be grown indoors, and yours will do you right when they go outdoors
Good luck,and keep us posted

Morning Glories transplant super easy, and even as crowded as mine are, and as long as I've waited, I'll still not lose one single plant when it comes time tomorrow to do so.
This being said, the sooner you do it, the better your success rate will be, so I'd go ahead and do yours now.
Just take a toothpick, and gently lift them out of the soil, it's just that easy

How long will they have to remain indoors before it gets warm enough?
Morning glories have to have full sun to grow correctly.

Ha! I thought it was just me. Last year I had two big post of i. purpurea and three pots of tricolor heavenly blue. Before the tricolor had really started flowering the purpureas had already produced several hundred flowers followed by seeds. My tricolors produced masses of bright green leafy growth, only occasional flowers until August, then they got going but it was a bit late, because it turned cold early in September. I thought I must have given them a feed with too much Nitrogen instead of tomato feed or something.

Last season, I didn't think they would ever bloom, and then one late summer morning I went out, and Bam, there they were!
I would say they are one of my top Glories to grow, but the wait is always too long.
My Heavenly Blues didn't start flowering until a month before the first frost, and I never feed my Glories.

40's is fine, but 30's is pushing it.
Good thing that I've been lazy, and mine are still in the planters, because we are getting a freaking freeze in May this Friday!
Well, there goes all my hard work down the drain, my tomatoes, peppers etc

I got a ton of different blooms this year, but I was super busy this summer, and I never took any pictures
I did happen to snap a pic of these gorgeous Scarlet O'Hara's though before the freeze took them out

And, who says that you can't grow morning glories indoors! This vine has since doubles in size, especially the leaves, since this picture was taken a week back.
I may get just bored enough this winter to try some more varieties indoors

My fiance grows them every year. She didn't know about the LSA content in the seeds until I told her though. We just went and collected them the other day. There's a few good trips worth.

be careful with those, unless you want a good chance of explosive diarrhea and intense ergot nerve burning.
I used to trip Morning glories back as a youngster, and all though they provided an out of this world experience, the nausea, horrible muscle cramping and burning, as well as a whole host of other awful side effects is why I stopped using those. There was also no way to know just how bad it all was going to be either, until it was too late.
I would say 99% of all my trips ended out with these horrible effects, and even the rare times when it was a somewhat pleasurable trip, those side effects were always lingering in the background to some degree.
If you look as to why lot's of these "legal" high plants are in fact legal, it's because no body in their right mind would even want to mess with them
Just thought I'd throw that out so you don't make a sickening mistake brother
Just grow out your glories for their intense beauty, you'll be better off

Well, I never did the morning glories but Hawaiian Baby woodrose were really nice. Peppermint seemed to bypass most of the nausea from it. Many natural psychedelics are vasoconstrictive, that's why they make people sick, but I don't think they're actually poison. The active chemical is Lysergic Acid Amide(LSA)

I tried them both, but I got the sickest from the woodrose to be quite honest.
Yes if you could just extract only the LSA, it would be awesome, but all that other crap I would call poisons for sure.

The woodrose I mixed with peppermint herb and encapsulated it and 0 out of 5 people puked, and nausea was mild, eating the whole seed. Whereas, when me and my brother did them back in the day, we did not use the peppermint, we both puked and got really nauseous, but then we had a good trip.
This time I think I'm gonna wash the outside of the seeds, ground them up and do a cold water extraction then add peppermint extract to it. It's worth a shot. I mean, I'd prefer LSD but it's not very easy to obtain without connections to the Dead family or something. Out of legal highs, I'd prefer the natural stuff to research chemicals (generally speaking, although ALD52 interests me.)
I do appreciate your concern and advice though, and I never go crazy with anything, so know that.. I was thinking of microdosing also with maybe some other psychoactive herb(s)or something to enhance the effects and not need as much.

Yeah, I did eat the seeds, so that is why I got so sick I'm sure.
If you can, keep us posted on your results, I'm very interested in a lot of what you've talked about
As for LSD goes, man I think you could locate a nuclear missile in your back yard before being able to find any of that ever again hahaha! At least around here you can't. I haven't found any in over a decade myself.

I've only ever seen cubensis but sadly I'm not very experienced in mushroom hunting myself. i really joined this site more for this section here, but me and my fiance do eat them, and try to find them. Maybe next time I'll get some help from you all.

Well, cubes only grow near the coast in Virginia, so you must have had to travel far to find them! You wont find cubes growing below grow zone 8 that is why they don't grow in Kentucky either.
But yeah, this isn't the mushroom section, so now we can get back on topic

I haven't really seen any mods in this particular section. I hope I'm utilizing it correctly and not been too far off topic.

Hey! Happy Birthday! Got a bunch of December babies in here! I mean I got lots of stuff I don't mind sharing, I probably have more herbs and seeds than I need with certain things. I got like over a pound of passionflower 10-16 ounces of Mullein, Chicory root/whole plant, and like 10 ounces of California Poppy... I had less last year, and I still have 30 some grams powdered from my last years batch!!! I'll be happy in 4 months when I can trade here. Maybe I'll trade seeds for seeds or herbs for herbs.
