Hello All
I'm currently waiting on delivery of supplies for my first attempt at cultivating and would love some advice from those more experienced in the process.
The delivery I'm waiting on is from a highly rated local (Australian) supplier and contains:- 3x 2.5-3L Oat/Gypsum Grain bags, Pre sterilised with self healing injection ports 3 x spore syringes, Golden teacher, koh samui and z strain
My intention is to sterilize thoroughly, my hands and work area as well as the needles and injection ports, inoculate 1 of the bags and place them inside a exra thick walled polystyrene box to maintain temperature wait for colonization and then cut open the top of the bag then clip closed (opening every couple days) and allow them to spawn right in the bag.
I understand spawning in the bag will likely reduce my yield but being my 1st attempt I'll be happy if they grow at all. I will survey the box priod to use for temperature range over a couple of days to ensure it maintains a range between 18-28 Celsius and stored somewhere dark.
Any advice would be appreciated and as I'm going through each step i will post for further critique. Suggestions of which strain to try out 1st would be welcome also.
If this post is in the wrong place let me know.

I would run those pre sterilized grain bags through a pc before you inoculate them if you can.. just incase.
Bulk growing with a coir/verm mix is the most popular growing style because it’s so easy.
Why not start there? I prefer shoeboxes over tubs/ bags.

Only going this route because of lack of knowledge that there may be something better. If this doesn't go well perhaps I'll investigate the coir/verm.
I'm only going to do 1 at a time so if the 1st suffers contamination I'll definitely pc

Brf is less likely to contaminate from a dirty syringe.
Spores to grain is always a gamble. You can’t cut corners and expect to win the race. Spores are dirty that’s why we clean them up using agar and sterile techniques in the SAB.
Check out the link in my sig “teks I use” ..there is some good beginner information in there.
The best advice I can give is do your research and get your self organized before you start. Keep your research to recent posts (within the last 5 years or so)
