Hey guys so i pretty much have the same question for two different scenarios so one brf jar has a little spot near the top that doesn't want to colonize but it is pinning. the rest of it is fully colonized I've read if a small area doesn't to want to colonize it might be some kind of contamination however I remember running low on spore syringe so there was one jar I only gave 1 ml to could this be the reason it doesn't want to fully colonize? should i go ahead and birth and dunk it or wait a little bit more? I also have a mini monotub that hasn't fully colonized but has a small pin. it's been colonizing for 18 days should i keep it in the dark and hope it colonized or should i open the fae holes and introduce light thank you!

Are you sure that that uncolonized part of that cake isn’t just plain verm that fell over the edge? That’s what it looks like since the myc has colonized it loosely.
As far as that tub... did you use a top layer? If so, that doesn’t necessarily need to be fully colonized for fruiting to happen.
You should expose everything to light from the day you inoculate.

We are here to help each other Also take off tape from liner, you want your liner to be sticked to the sub as it shrinks to avoid side pinning

I've got my jars colonized in a place with little light but not total darkness though. It's because it's cold here and I wanted to store the jars some place warmer. Will this lack of light during colonization ruin my project? Mine are PF jars.
