Help me not to kill my lop lol
    #26483768 - 02/13/20 01:51 PM (3 years, 11 months ago)

Hey people I have recently come into what I believe to be a Lophophora williamsii? Correct me if I'm wrong!

Information on the adult care of these online is scarce so I took to the net for help and here I am.

Basically she doesn't look like she's in a great state the fury tuffs are dirty and I really want to take her out of the horrible plastic pot she's in and put her into a nice new one with freshly a fertilised soil mix of some sort! I'd like to get to that after I get some advise on when I should be turning my cfls on and off?
And also is this fertiliser suitable for her? Also I was going to buy a fan as well... Good idea?

Any information anyone can chuck at me please id be so greatful all I want is to be confident I'm helping her survive not working against her

id say the light is a bit close to the plant, it might be getting hot..
i wouldn't use fertilizer, but it's probably helpful in small amounts.
i don;t think cacti benefit from wind.. like leafy branchy plants do,
a fan might help soil dry, Let soil dry out completely between watering..
if that is a closed base pot it's in.. be sure water doesn't collect and sit.

So I should be letting the soil go bone dry after every drench..
Because I should be watering it until the water is running through the bottom aren't I?.

Thankyou so much for the reply

Also while I'm here may I ask what you think of the look of the cactus, do you think it looks like a 17yr old lop?
