ID request unknown specimen
    #26483032 - 02/13/20 02:22 AM (3 years, 11 months ago)

Habitat:
Both underneath a teak tree, growing out of hardwood woodchip.
Northern NSW, very wet.

Gills:
Specimen 1 has white gills, all attached, no distinct spore colour.

Specimen 2 has pinkish gills

Stem:
Specimen 1 about 8cm long, darker at bottom lighter at top. 2mm wide, no staining, fairly strong stem so guessing it's solid.

Specimen 2 about 10cm long, bulbous at the base, white with an annulus skirt from young growth. Solid about 1cm wide

Cap: specimen 1, darker in centre dark redish/brownish leading to lighter brown on the outside. Convex on top with a Nipple, concave underneath.

Specimen 2 dark brown in middle speckled out to lighter brown then pinkish shade on outside.

Spore print color:
Specimen 1: no visible spore print after being left for 4 hours. Will leave over night for a better look

Specimen 2: cap was extremely wet and so spore print is a bit hard to distinguish but looks as if it's a light brown/pinkish

I'm a bit confused since your descriptions kind of mismatch with the pictures - remember
to always number the pictures according to your descriptions.

The larger one with the annulus is an Agaricus species, and the print you provided
is obviously dark brown. Give the stem base a scratch and a squeeze, and try to
smell it. If it stains chrome yellow and smells unpleasant, it is likely toxic.

The smaller, flimsier ones are likely white spored, they appear collybioid but I'm
not sure which genus they belong to. It does however look like they are exuding
some kind of latex from the gills, looking at the droplets - unless they are just
water? Could perhaps be a species of Lactocollybia, although that's a genus
I'm not at all familiar with.

Perhaps someone with better knowledge of the Australian funga has something
worthwhile to say about these.
