Will this taint my shrooms

I was thinking about filling a jar with dried shrooms with a tablespoon of baked epsom salt desiccant at the bottom wrapped in a tea bag then wrapped in a coffee filter and sealed into a packet with a little piece of micropore tape.
Or should I buy desiccant packets.
And is it really inadvisable to use plastic bags even if you use one inside another with desiccant packets?
Can I use my dehydrator to recharge commercial desiccant packets that I've already been using for a while?

Yes you can recharge desiccant packs. Oven at 200F for a few hours.
Those Epsom's won't 'taint' your mushrooms. How could it?
Who advised against plastic bags? First Ive heard of that. What should you use to store your dried mushies?

Plastic bags aren't actually airtight. They slowly leak/breath over time. Mason jars are preferred.

You should use Mason Jars once they are cracker dry. I have heard of people using descant packs but what is the point? Long term storage, if you are storing long term you are doing it wrong.

What? How is long term storage wrong?
Desiccant packs remove moisture. That's the point. Oxygen absorbent packs are also great.

I think it's a matter of philosophy, I assume his point is that if you're growing regularly, you should be steadily going through your supply.
Like, shrooms can last years in a mason jar if they're dried correctly, but why not just give them to your friends or whatever instead of hoarding?
