Whats up guys. Have a bag of Lions fully colonized and trying to decide between fruiting the bag or using it to bulk?
Cant find any pictures of Lions Mane being fruited on a flat surface so is this a sign?
Should i just fruit the bag?
Thanks

When you say you have a bag, usually that means that is your bulk substrate, can you clarify is it a bag of grain, or a sawdust bag that you have ready?
If it's a sawdust bag I wouldn't break it up again.
Lion's mane I usually cut small holes in the sides and let if fruit out of them, if you do that just make sure and fold the bag tightly closed with no airspace inside so you don't get fruiting inside the bag also.

If you want the most out of it put it to bulk. And use 50/50 soy/hwfp if you can get soy pellets, which will at least double your fruits' weight if not triple.

Yes, then do what seagu said and spawn to bulk

Yes soy hulls. I use pellets. I had to call all around all the local feed stores to find who carries them. Took a while but there was 1 person close by. Seems another is going to be carrying them soon too. And if worse comes to worse I can always drive an hour and a half to get some. And honestly the difference for Lion's Mane is so big there is no way I would bother growing without it even on a hobby level if I had the option of using soy hulls.

Good luck getting anything from feedsforless. After four months of waiting, they finally refunded my money for a $48 order with the explanation that my order was too small, and they just really couldn't be arsed.

The quickest and easiest way is use the same volume you used for the HWFP then two of that volume for the water. 1 part soy hull pellets, 1 part HWFP, 2 parts water = 100%. If you feel like measuring with a scale for whatever reason( I do because I feel like it and don't top off my measuring scoop except for water) you could do 1 lb Soy Hull Pellets, 1 lb HWFP, 3 lbs water. And adjust as needed and wanted for bigger bags or just fitting more in the same bag, etc.. Keep in mind the pellets do have a slight amount of water in them already.

Okay thanks.
So no reason to supplement with wheatbran when you're doing soy pellets?

Np.. The soy hull pellets are considered the supplement.
So no reason to use wheat bran if you are using soy hulls.
